Of course, as a developer; I tested your game; I tried misclicking but it always returned to me and kept me in shape.
This game, is fantastic. I actually love it. I'm still playing it.
What a great job, this is a brilliant compo entry and a possible winner in my book. Please keep adding on to this game after the LD ends. I'll see if I can beat it now.
Excellent graphics with excellent animations that don't annoy the player (are short and to the point).
An excellent & polished entry!
I love this game i beaten this twice already
altough i hope you could add more cards and maybe
some more levels
@wansou Thanks! I'm super excited about a few ideas for levels, cards and items. I even coded a basic level editor during the jam, but didn't get the time to use it...I'll wait until the 20days of the rating period are over before adding any other content, or maybe make a second version on itch...
I did get a bug once where the game was just blocked and I couldn't do anything anymore, had to restart it. I also didn't like when I had to choose between the two of the same card after unlocking.
Other than that, man I'd love to play more levels of this!
But, I broke the game when the size of my hand became equal to six cards. At this point, something happened to the interface, and after the game completely stopped. However, I went through the game. I'm also not sure about the mechanics of reducing the size of the hand, given that the player is not limited in resources. And I also found a bug, when using the arrows on the last lower lock to the right of it, they show the initial frame of the animation and do not work any further.
On a different note, one one run I encountered a bug where a 'Consume' card didn't properly disappear after use and the game got into a weird state where I could use each of the cards in my hand once but they wouldnt leave my hand afterwards and I couldnt draw more cards. Just felt I should report this if you ever felt like coming back to this.
Very Well done!
Despite that though I genuinely loved it, I played a good few rounds picking up different cards to see how they all handled
The only complaint I have that the canvas is too tall for a full HD display I have to scroll the page up and down constantly.
The one thing I wish the game had more of was some opposing force, maybe enemies or hazards that were more dynamic instead of just responding to your actions. The way it is now I felt like I could just take my time and wait for my best cards.
Then again, balancing this kind of game and making sure everything fits takes a lot of time, and you guys already did a great job at it with this version! I'd love to see more of this game!
Can't wait to see more levels in the future, cause I'd love to play much, much more!
Of course, there's this pesky Arrow bug that puts up once in a while, but it doesn't *always* fuck up the game :p
Well done!
Even though I enjoyed the game such a lot, I've to say that I feel the music is too repetitive, when maybe in these games what you want is to focus on the gameplay itself. However, I like the sound design here. I think it fits very well the game :)
Congrats!
Good game and Fun Game. I Expect
Thank you for making this game. <3
I think it is great to be a Mobile game. It is very polished!
Congratulations!
This is our game:

As a card game, it lacks of some, I don't know, strategy choice? or presure? I think. I know that I must keep the heart whole, but the more I play, the less danger I feel, it makes me less carefully every time I pick a card.
But the whole game is absolutely astonishing!
I love the way you re-invisioned card games and even though I am not into that genre, I was glued to the screen and highly enjoyed the game. Forgive me for that, but I believe the music doesn't match the pace of the game (it's good, but it is very "active", I'd say). Also, I like that your cards don't cost mana or anything like that and that there are cards that hurt you if you misplace them.
Also, I want to share this screenshot with you. At this point, my heart became impenetrable and I could easily finish the game. I think that something should be done to the "Shield" card.

On a side note, huge, huuuuge thank you for sharing the source code! :)
I did ultimately hit a bug, in which an arrow card was placed but didn't fire (It got stuck at the first animation frame, and no projectiles seemed to spawn; or perhaps they did spawn but simply didn't move?). There might be a reason for this mechanically but I couldn't figure out one. Luckily it didn't block the tile so I could just place a sword instead and still cleared it.
Graphics are simple yet lovely. Mechanics are solid, though it might be worth revisiting some of them (Baby hearts seem useless, for example) but there's so much to love here I'm mostly just excited to see where you go with it.
Fun: Great. I wish it was longer. The rules of this game lead to an interesting (but not too hard) puzzly challenge. (In my opinion, if you call the game roguelite, players might expect random maps?)
Innovation: Yeah! A very creative new ruleset for the game.
Theme: Sure.
Graphics: Beautiful graphics. Everything is so polished - things like the spell effects, and moving the cards around. Really impressive.
Audio: Very nice!
Humor: N/A? OK, there's cutesy faces, but they don't crack any jokes.
Mood: Nice! The graphics, sound and gameplay work really well together.
@reheated thanks for the detailed feedback  indeed, in its current state, it's not really roguelite. It was actually intended to be, and the random map system is half coded, but I cut it before the end of the jam as I was running out of time. I forgot to update the descriptions and texts...The final game is intended to have procedural elements/maps though.
Regarding Humor, I kinda forgot to remove it from the rating as well haha...
I found a bug by playing the consume an item card on, I believe, the item spawned by card that makes you draw. I could still play other cards but the card played wouldn't go away (and I couldn't draw any new card)/
I miss more variations of attack cards/patterns. Also, drawing two equal cards to choose from when the next level starts is unnecessary, I guess.
Something to move elements on the board would be an interesting addition to design as a whole. I hope you're considering it!
Congratulations, man. Great game! :)
Despite that, it's a really impressive entry; I hope this one does get expanded in the future!
I think I got stuck on my first playthrough (got swarmed by shield cards ), but I managed to beat it on my second and then I felt smart about it.
This concept has a lot of potential, I'll be looking forward to more levels.
Congratulations! :)
Overall though, interesting ideas and very charming.
I had a bug though where the arrows din't shoot after being places on the board
👉 Things I liked about your submission:
- General vibe is on point (from graphics to small little vfx)!
- Polished game wtf
- Web version
There aren't a whole lot of cards atm, so once you figured out the mechanics, it was pretty easy to beat. But overal a top 10 submission in my book!
I only now realised this was a COMPO submission!!
I'm expecting a post mortem!!
One thing I did realize that should be looked into: The corrupted heart. It should probably go down to zero cards and lose the game or something, because when it capped at 1 card I could just spam corrupted hearts and then play whatever card showed up. I ended up my second playthrough with about 7 or 8 corrupted hearts on the grid... felt a bit like cheating :) Add the crystal ball to that and I still had 3 cards in hand.
Would definitely like to see this concept expanded on, though. Really like what you did here.

Very good one, keep it up!
Most cards just didn't really seem that useful to me - you basically only need swords or arrows and shields to make your way forward. I think with some more elements and actual reasons to use the cards this can become a nice puzzle game! :)
Also the aspect ratio was a bit weird - on my browser I had to scroll up and down to see the whole screen.
The game is intuitively understandable, which is pretty rare for compo-entries, but it gives the game great playability as you don't have to try and figure out cryptic mechanics. Nice work.
I hope you continue working on this. Enjoyed it a lot.

There is a tiny bug that sometimes you cannot put item on available block, you have to click on something else then click back to do it.
- hard-coded Lerp with some easings
- an Animator with the different movements/steps as animations
- or the DOTween plugin, which is quite nice
I'm sure the cards' movement is hard-coded, but I think I used an Animator for the tutorial.
Cheers!
