a Damsel a Day by alec

Our dastardly villain is not very creative.. Every day he steals our poor maiden, and ties her to train tracks! It’s up to you to reach her before the train does!
But the loop continues..
Over..
And over..
How long can you keep this up before finally failing?
Use the array keys to move, that’s all there is to it. Oh, and maybe it's best to avoid the train yourself!
Good luck!

Made it to 23 days. I imagine a leader board would go well with a game like this.
Well done!
How does the placement of the princess work? Sometimes she was like 2 steps away even for some of the later levels. Is that just random?
Far from a perfect solution, since it can create both really easy, and impossible situations!
not sure how you did the levels, because about level 16 was impossible (train and myself went immediately straight right, but train overtook me and i could not rescue her. maybe generational levels need a sanity check?)
PS: These damn trees keep getting in my way!
Art, music, concept was really good. It quickly became kind of stale though. Maybe the pace should be slower, that way you could introduce some other mechanics, like a tracksplitter that you have to toggle that gives you more time or something like that.
Overall really enjoyed it! thank you for the game
All in all, fun, great idea!
*I can't get enough of those trees*
Great, juicy animations. I loved the tree sway, the transitions, and the character animations. The game-over music is pretty dang good. Makes me feel bad for losing, lol.
Good job setting the mood with a story, too. Very cute.
However, I think it's a little too simple to hold your attention for more than one or two attempts. I would have liked to see some way of interacting with the train or tracks, maybe with switches or something. But hey, nice work.
As game jam winners tend to be. 5/5
Great graphics, audio and overlay execution.
Sound of the train keeps you in the rhythm to run. Cool game, good job!
I think one more element to the gameplay would have gone a long way in extending the enjoyment, but it's a nice, simple game as is. Well executed across the board.
Awesome! Thank you for game!
I think it only kind of fits the theme, but it's a great minigame.
We will be together again someday, i am sure of it
It seems like if you play long enough, you'll eventually reach a level that's impossible to beat, but I suppose that sort of thing is inevitable when you're placing things randomly, especially when doing things on such a tight timescale.
Aside from that, the design is tight, the music is catchy and the graphics are endearing. Great all around.
Ps: you guys should think about adding an online leader board.

Will there be a mobile version? :-D
+good sound and music
-gameplay could use some variety. Seemed like train placement was random since I died in an unwinnable situation.
Good job!

The difficulty seemed to fluctuate a bit, at least on my second attempt - is there some mechanism that'd make the track from the train to the damsel shorter as levels go by?
But the music and sound effects, and art style and animations - all of it is just gorgeous!
Good job :)
