Loop of Shapes by IronWood777

[raw]
made by IronWood777 for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

you probably wont understand the tutorial but idc because this is my first finished game jam. if you do want to play it basically there is a moving hand , you have to pick up shapes and drop them in the corresponding hole

left arrow to - pick up

right arrow - drop

you have to make sure the hand is on the same 'sector' as the shape or hole in order to pick/drop it

don't mess up the controls or you loose

Post Ludum Dare Version Available in Itch page!(better tutorial and press space to start added) Android version coming!

Nice!! The shapes started generating a few seconds after starting the game so i was a bit confused at first, but otherwise i really like the concept!

Nice core gameplay loop, nice music. It's a little confusing how a mistake just kicks you to the title screen without saying anything and that it takes a minute to start spawning things.

i always got thrown back to the main menu. But the game idea looked cool!

I enjoy this game. It took few seconds to understand how to play it but when you get it, it's quite addictive. Maybe the shapes could come quicker at the beginning. I liked the music and the overall mood. Well done for your first finished jam!

I thought the tutorial was fine. I thought the game was fun and loved the music but I found it very hard. Also, the game was super tiny compared to the window on itch. You can set the size of the window to match the aspect ratio of your game; this will make your page look sharper.

Slightly punishing gameplay, but it plays very smoothly and the audio is nice :)

Really like the idea and the music gives a cool vibe to it! Nice game!
Maybe if it was a little more permissive it would be great, sometimes you get thrown back to the menu because you anticipated just a little too much when to pick up.

Liked the idea! The music believe me or not, remembers me of Rush lol

@fachscahfttf you have to wait for the pink symbol to appear, then you pick it up and drop in the corresponding shape (eg. a pink square appears, you pick it and drop it on the gray square)

This is a pretty fun and addicting game, and the music fits really well and motivates you to go on. The balance is *almost* just right. I think just slightly larger hitboxes on the shapes and it would feel a bit more fair. As it is now I feel like I'm losing a lot when - to my eyes - the hand was over the shape or hole.

Also making it a bit easier to retry would go a long way. When I lose I have to take my hand off the keyboard and click the play button with my mouse. Which isn't much effort, but when you're losing a lot being able to press space to start or something would make losing more fun.

The most fun I've had getting a high score of 1. Nice visual style and idea - Can't get any more loopy.

Congrats on making your first jam game :) My high score was 28 - I was trying to play in order to place the shape I got as soon as possible, and I think it would be nice if there was some bonus for managing to do so.
