The events were a nice necessary touch to break up the tasks and add a sense of disruption when you failed an event. Fuel seemed very hard to make. Im not sure if a specific skill helps make it, as that wasn't as clear. When I noticed at what rate my resources were going down I just had everyone do them and then I was just staring at a empty lounge.
