@mailman Well i just picked a note in bosca ceoil that i liked, then I edited a bit in audacity. For the gunshots i used Sfxr. Glad you liked it!

This was dope. Against all instructions, I decided to play the game. I love the relationship created between the player and narrator, that's some Stanley Parable shit. I didn't click the button, but after the narrator disappeared and I killed 100 agents, I decided the game was probably over. I gotta know, is there something that happens after that if you keep going?? Very fun experience, thanks for making.

Despite this game begging me not to, I had fun playing this. I like the low time to kill and moody visual effect, its not something I can remember seeing before.
I spent some time perfectly aligned on the left of screen shooting to the right so i could see mire dialog :P

i first thought you are just being pretentious, but the narrative is actually great (at some point quite suspenseful) , just needs an increased difficulty, and maybe enemies from more directions? I played to 100+ to be sure you didn't hide anything from me :D

@kinshuk-thebest you are right, I didn't think about it :D , this would be great for monetization, first hook the users in with the narrative, then keep constant difficulty and slap and ad in their face every 10 enemies :D

I hear the artifact unlocks the secrets of good 3d rendering.

I'm a sucker for self aware characters. Ironically, since there is no ending other than failure, the narrator is always destined to win.

Good narration :) As feedback, I'd at least have liked for the agents spawn coordinates and speeds to be randomized. Being taunted while beating a more difficult challenge is very rewarding.

@ironygames Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate it! As for the artifact, you will never know all of its secrets... Its a very special item... But wait, in the game over ending, the narrator tells us that we failed mission keep it alive, does that mean... the artifact is a living being??? 🙀

Cool game, and the title misleads you to think this game is focused on shooting. I really love the way in which the villain talks to you. The branch for losing is also great. I guess a "I give up" button would be just the ironic touch it needs to really flesh out this game.
Protip : strafe up and down while shooting towards the artifact from the sides to instantly win.

That was cool - "These are not the jedi you are looking for"-style. Very nice concept. There should be some progression though, maybe bigger enemies or coming from all sides after the alien intelligence becomes mad at you. Played over 100, but nothing more happened. Overall: I liked it!

The art is actually quite nice. I really like the cylinder kill particles, they feel great. I was a bit confused as to whether there was more to the game after the "Stay here for eternity" line. I guess once it's established that the game lies to you, it's very tricky to actually communicate things like that. Played to 120 :P.

Interesting game. Liked the overall mood of it and the use of the antagonistic/unreliable narrator. Text design was good too. Obviously the graphics and audio was rather lacking, so that's the main thing I would point to for criticism. Also, the controls were quite laggy and unreliable though I get the feeling that could be intentional as part of the theme?

A really fun experience, not so much of a game, but that is not a negative! I just learned that there are multiple endings, so that's cool. It was a bit slow for my taste, but I am sure that is just personal preference. Great job!

21. Apr 2020 · 11:47 UTC
Fun experience, the sound of the gun firing is really satisfying, so well done on a stellar sound design. The atmosphere is cool as well.

Strong Stanley Parable feels with the narrator. I love meta games with layers and complexity in the story, and I felt you'd really set something cool up here. On the negative side, I guess it was a bit short and the difficulty didn't really ramp up, so wasn't too hard to get to a 100 and then just continue indefinitely. I would have liked to see the story go further as well, as it seemed interesting and then just...stopped.

That said, I felt as if the game was very cool. The gunplay felt good, the enemies died with a satisfying animation, the added narration elements and reverse psychology were beautiful as well. All in all, a really fun experience!

21. Apr 2020 · 12:13 UTC
@steve-dragon Thanks alot for playing and your thoughtful feedback! I never even played Stanley Parable and unknowingly created an experience a little bit like it. About the negative side, I am a very inexperienced game developer and this game wouldn't have even been made if it wasn't for youtube tutorials. I watched the make a game tutorials from sebastian lague and created the "topdown shooter" mechanics the first day.

On the second day, realizing this was going nowhere, I decided I wanted some narration in this game, And the evil narrator was born, I know I should have added increasing dificulty and stuff, but when I finished, I didn't have the time or energy to add in the extra stuff.

I am overwhelmed by the positive response this game has been getting, and some awesome people like you are playing this game and leaving feedback. With this much love from the gamedev community I will try to make better games and learn as time goes on.

Again thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it.

From a mechanics standpoint, this game could really use some slight adjustments. Just making the ammunition less than infinite and enemies having more than two spawn points could make the tactic of "move your mouse from left to right very quickly" significantly less viable. Still, nice aesthetics - ominous!

At first I didn't notice the narrative at the top, so I was about to come back and critique the shooting, haha. Then I saw some of the other comments, went back and realized that wasn't really what it's about. Obviously it's really slow and not "fun", but I think this is a really good execution and idea.
