In the near future, the entire planet has been strucken with a deadly virus that has caused a world wide pandemic. The virus is called COVID-19.

This spreading virus is infecting and killing many people throughout the world. The elderly are the most vulnerable to the new virus. Of those vulnerable elderly is your two grandparents.

@niborious I know, ugh! I uploaded the window and mac files. The WebGL just kept giving me issues.I was able to fix it though for WebGL and playable.

It's hard to keep Grandma and Grandpa alive when they seek out destruction! Fun little game. Controls were a bit touchy and it would have been nice if my shots went through Grandma and Grandpa instead of pushing them. It was tough when they were shot to the edge of the screen. I was never able to get them away from the edge after that and death followed close behind.

The checker background is not the best to read the action, also one virus spawned almost directly on my grandparent, which makes it hard to protect them ^^
Also, when you are not using the key "q" and "z", you can assign them to left and up, so that azerty keyboards don't have to change layout to play ;)

Topical, but man, what a missed opportunity to talk about how to ACTUALLY be responsible and protect vulnerable people.

Shooting the virus is a major theme/mechanic mismatch! You should have to steer them away from large groups of people, make sure they wear masks, etc.

Sorry to be negative but it's crazy to me that this was the choice made.

Neat concept, my very first shot grazed my grandfather and he bounced directly into a virus. RIP. I like the pushing mechanic and it made me want an alternate mode for the game where the viruses are immune to the shots and all you can do is push the grandparents around to keep them safe. (Similar to one of Maxathon's mechanic suggestions)

@Maxathon - That would be a different game entirely, and you are free to make it! This one is about keeping the grandparents alive by destroying their antagonists with laser bullets, and to me fits the theme well. If you'd like to have some input into @rob-avery's next game, perhaps you can team up for LD 47 in October!
