You find yourself impaled by a spear through the back of the head. The only thing that could make it worse? You must relive this moment on loop, over and over, for the rest of time. Unless...?

This game takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and has an ending. Hang in there!

It has been a while since you came up with a unique title!

There isn't much to say. You are a master of your craft.

If I had to point something out: it didn't feel that much *eerie* this time even though it clearly had its eerie element. And pretty sure you can safely hit a spear if you move your head back up too early. But God, it's nothing. People who blindly download games and skip intros will think: "this 5/5 game had to be made by a talented 4-man team in 3 days".

@gevernus Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The download buttons? They have a platform icon beside them, but I might as well make that clearer by naming them with the platform. Hope that's what you meant!

This is a really well but together little game! The art is great, and the screen warp effect when going back in time is really cool. I can’t understate how much I like the art, the enemies are fun and the whole opening scene is a fantastic setup for the game. While the gameplay is not extravagant, it is very well polished and works to serve the story perfectly. The story is interesting enough to keep playing to get the rest of it, and I like the way that it is told from the middle out in both directions. Fantastic work!

You called MY game sadistic. But how can you POSSIBLY say that with the ending this game has? No, sir. It is YOUR game that is truly sadistic.

Seriously though, this game is absolutely amazing, and to think it was made in 48 hours by one man. Good job!

Danm, the intro page made me believe I would be running with a spear through my head the whole game while fighting, but I was fooled, and not for the last time. Really great game, with amazing visual and sounds, even the fact that you see when an enemy approaches you also hear them, especially with the one that come from above, it gives you more then one way to know when to react, and arrows and spears are dead silent, though some would probably give the a swoosh sound, here it ads to the difficulty. The story telling is on point too with added effects and sounds to emphasize it, great game and entry, hats off to you!

Great game, as usual from you! I especially liked the beginning, the ending, and how you put some storytelling in there. The visuals and effects are awesome! The mechanics work really well too, not too easy, not too hard.
I only got one minor criticism: You might want to consider not using Z as a default input key, since it's a pain to use Z and X together on a QWERTZ layout keyboard (AZERTY even more, I guess). Thankfully it's configurable in the Unity launcher, but not everyone may know about this.

@erkberg Good point regarding the controls! I made a note in the "Controls" section of the description to inform players that the keys can be remapped :)

I definitely had to remap the keys just because with S, Z, X I would keep knotting my fingers when I have to react quickly. Awesome game, I like how the narrative unfolds in both directions at once, and, needless to say, it's very polished.

I love the way that this mechanic tells a nonlinear story! It definitely has potential to be expanded on! Great idea!

And the art/audio/overall polish of the game is fantastic! Can't believe you made it in 48 hours!

The story is clever and well presented and the whole games has an outstanding degree of polish and flair. The art is fantastic and the sound all works brilliantly to build the mood. I particularly like the little audio cues for incoming attacks.

Great work.

A great looking game with nice aesthetics! The looping combat playstyle felt great and in the end I felt like super ninja warrior. The story was also interesting to play through. The one thing I noticed was that if you duck after every move "just in case" it's way easier to play through. But still, excellent game!

Wow, that's an impressive entry! Everything about it was polished to the extreme. Art, sound, post-processing... Astounding work, really!

It's a mini-game that stands on its own, is fun and simple to play, unique and is flashy only where it counts! If I had to comment on where it fell short would be the dialogues were too slow to unfold, and the jokes fell flat to me (However, laughed out loud at the ending).

But that's just me being nit-picky: it is really perfect as a game jam entry. Again, well done!

Very slick! I usually suck at quick time stuff and this was no exception but it kept me trying over and over again anyway til I made it to my bitter sweet end. Did someone mention Edge of tommorrow yet? The setting is obviously very unique. Story was interesting but I felt like the angle of finding out that you are the fascist bad guys could be explored more or that is has a more unsettling reveal somehow. One thing that was not optimal is Z and X for controls, those keys are pretty far away on a German keyboard but still reachable with a single hand.

This is a really good game man. The concept of the timeline expanding kept things very fresh and the overall story and art style was really cool. A short little game but one which leaves a huge impact. It can be a little frustrating to have to redo certain sections though but the overall product is really great man

Such a cool concept! And excellent execution on it as well! The graphics are really great too, and the use of the scan-line aesthetic on a tv to visualize rewinding is such a great little touch!

Phenomenal stuff! The presentation and graphics were top notch along with the sound design. I love a gamejam entry that nails the theme from the get go, and the rapid introduction nailed it pretty quickly, and made me keep playing to see the beginning and ends of the loop. Just gotta say I love the art style a ton and makes me want to get better at having a style in my own projects.

This was a genuinely interesting concept! The game is very well done and the game is legitimately funny. I will say the intro and the ending were my favorite parts! A very interesting "simon says"/"memory game"-like!

A great idea to expand the timeline on both sides during each loop. Kept it fresher for longer, like a carton of blueberries in the fridge. I'd have done away with the second-to-last loop, though... filling out the timeline feels like it deserves a win, and then I have to do it again with no new gameplay!

Great entry! I thought there was going to be a dramatic twist at the ending, like he was already dead all along, but it was funny nonetheless. Graphics was amazing, and I liked the narrative. I felt controls could've been tighter though.

Incredible work for 2 days ! I loved the animations, sound, the short story (just the right length for a gamejam) and more than anything else the intro.

The only thing that bothered me is that if you start holding down while the character is moving, he won't crouch when he stops.

Very nice. Slightly easier than I would have liked (would have been cool if the actions got progressively faster bit by bit), but still enjoyable regardless!

That ending! I'm not going to spoil it on anybody, but...
Although the gameplay is simple, the story is funny and intriguing. Nice intro, too. Some amount of polish for a 48 hour game too! We didn't get half as much done in 78 hours!
