Escape The Loop by Hans Dawson

[raw]
made by Hans Dawson for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

I am 13 years old and have just started learning to code in unity. This was actually the first game i have ever made! I know it's not that focused on the theme but at least i learned alot! The game is an escaperoom-y thing where you collect tools to get to the next clock. The clocks are what you need to fix to get out of the loop. If time runs out, you just teleport to the start. If i'd had more time i would ad more to the "Stuck in a loop" theme and add more levels. I made the game completely from scratch and without help from any others. The only tool i used except unity, was ProBuilder. Ideas were from me and my family.FirstGameJamPicture.PNG

Cool game! I got pretty close to finishing it(I think) Great job for doing it all on your own. It may not be tied to the theme much but that doesn't matter as long as you had fun doing it! Here's the part that I got stuck on. ![LD47Loop.png](///raw/ddc/2/z/395be.png)

I was a bit lost in this game. I picked up the screwdriver, but did not know, how to use it. I clicked and pressed multiple buttons while looking at the black box on the wall in the first room, and when I turned around again, the door was open, but since there was no sound, I had no clue, which button or action did it. Interaction hints ("Press E to interact") or at least a hint about the key bindings would be very helpful.

For your first game this is really impressive though, writing a working game (I assume its working and that I just didn't know how to make it work) in 3 days with little to no previous knowledge is not an easy task. Therefore I would agree with @kpedatte that you should definitely keep working on games.
