It's always great to learn things from a jam. We passed geometric shapes, Davy Jones locker, some tiny asteroids, and a vast piece of blank dull empty space. until on the 10'th day, we passed a Ship wreckage, i figured Marvin would be exited to have found some metal to chew down on, but he deceased, let go of the ship and drifted away in a life-less state of being.\n\nI return to my cryo-sleep chambers and continue my journey, Marvin's path was decided.\n\nEnjoyed it, some typo's, but a nice read.","likes":0,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld46\/192200-22c3e2836d29a3a914f46ccf24552fac.png"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/brandonmcclure\/LD46","text":"Youtube"},{"url":"https:\/\/ld46projectdev.azurewebsites.net\/","text":"Youtube"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"64338","g_author":"1009803","g_event":"LD46","g_eventkey":"77","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"280604","g_title":"Whales in Space!","g_status":"PVT1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"4","g_site2_node_id":"192200","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"192200","n_urlkey":"280604","n_parent":"176557","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/whales-in-space","n_slug":"whales-in-space","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"9803","n_created":"1587152889","n_modified":"1587426525","n_version":"597970","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":192200,"parent":176557,"superparent":9,"author":9803,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2020-04-20T23:48:45Z","created":"2020-04-17T19:48:09Z","modified":"2020-04-20T23:48:45Z","version":597970,"slug":"whales-in-space","name":"Whales in Space!","body":"Like [this](https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/SpaceWhale) trope, but a bit more generic. I took alot of inspiration from No Mans Sky, and seedship for android in the mood. It is a text based adventure game, the concept is that you are traveling through space and you find a creature floating around that has grown attached with you and is dependent on you for survival. You move from place to place and try to keep it alive. The main mechanic for that is by choosing the correct places to look for food based on the type of creature you rolled.\n\nIt is not very balanced, most of the times you will die\/loose ~turn 10.
