Temple Balls by SiberianCyborgs666

[raw]
made by SiberianCyborgs666 for LD36 (JAM)
In the old days, if someone didn’t want to see at home uninvited guests he just set a giant stone ball in his living room. I think it looks like this:
-Exsume sir. Do you have a moment to talk about...
-*The sound of the rolling ball*
The task of the ball at first glance seems quite simple: catch and crush. But is it? This will you find in the game “Temple Balls”!

Catch and crush adventurer, avoid obstacles, upgrade your balls.

Controls: press Spacebar or LMB to jump

The game is really polished for such a short time!

Wow such a polished game in such a short amount of time!

Stuck with the theme but I never managed to smash the explorer! Is there an end cause?

Nice job on the game! The art was very nice and polished, and wasn't pixel art! ;) (My game is, so no offense to pixel art lovers.) My only complaint is that the boulder can't jump far enough, because I just sorta ended up hitting most of the obstacles I passed. But other than that, you have yourself a nice solid entry!

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! run indiana!! Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

I am the most coolest ball!
This game is great. Really neat variation on a theme and I had a great time. I honestly could probably play this for hours.
One thing - you might want to take a look at the collision detection on the corners of the platforms - it seems like sometimes I fall through. That's honestly just a nitpick, though. The game is totally playable and fun just as it is.

Really fun idea!

Died the first few times before I worked out that I was the ball and not the tomb raider :)

I got the upgrade to a stone ball, but kept falling down holes. It felt as though sometimes my button mashing didn't quite match the coarse.

Love the background art. Simple game, but the upgrade mechanic keeps it interesting.

Great game. Incredibly polished. I could see this do well on Google Play!
However, what is the thing with "You are the most coolest ball"? Was there a bug where Indy got stuck and you decided to compensate it with a message? It kind of feels like it. I can see this be infuriating when you almost made it through the whole level, and then you have to take the cheap way out.
Otherwise: Truly a complete experience.

Cool idea and very nice graphic style, fits the theme perfectly. First I thought "Wait, how do I control that adventurer?" but then it came to me. Really fun to play.

One little thing: it feels like you sometimes can't jump when on the edge of a platform, even though you should.

A simple game made interesting by upgrades. All time classic concept. Very smooth for such a short time. More types of upgrades would be interesting.
e.g steadfastness, health, jump width, etc. The stone image could swap after a set number of updates made ;)

nice start for a mobile game. theres a bug... you need more money than it says to actaully upgrade even though the cost is the same. id guess its a > instead of a >=

Oh, and one thing - I just finished the while map (yeah, your game is so addictive!), but the I failed and it didn't show me the result table. And I think it is good if you add ESC button to your HUD :)

Graphics is just amazing for such a short time. I believe you are planning for mobile aren't you? This would be brilliant mobile game. Also as someone wrote here there is not Quit button at the menu or am I just blind? :D

Anyways great job! I would play that on mobile aswell :) and the last thing was this created by team or just one person? I am sorry if that's written somewhere and I missed that :D

i don't understand why the ball has problems with torches and spikes that it could easily just run over, but in either case this game has a lot of polish with it. I do not enjoy upgrade games like these that require you to play the same exact part repeatedly to only progress by a tiny bit each iteration, but nonetheless I imagine the target audience of this game would be pleased.

One annoying bit is that the animation for rock death plays when you hit the corner of a jump. So you kind of have to jump before that point, which is counter-intuitive when you try to max your jumping distance. The upgrades don't really add enough to the gameplay either for me to want to try to beat the entire game.

Holy damn, you killed it! Well done. Love the theme, love the art, love the gameplay.
Would love to see some procedural generation on this, and then have it up on mobile market ^_^

Need all next rock roll a little bit faster...
Indy stuck on jump sometime. Kill him on 700m))
More upgrades needed, bugfix, more gameplay features and maybe google play waits you)

Nice infinite runner, looks pretty good and I didn't encounter any issues. In terms of progression, I didn't feel like upgrades were all that helpful - i.e. my "coins per second" was relatively constant - so a way to gather coins faster would have been more satisfying.

Nice job.

A great spinoff Idiana Jones! Very neat and good runner. Addictive, with competent accents on the achievements of the player. Stones 10 out of 10!

The embedded version here on the LD site does not work, it just says "http://bellageniberg.ucoz.net/banners/banner02.png,https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zealandteam.real.city.racing"

I like the art, it is well drawn and animated. The sound effects are fine too, but the music music gets annoying very quickly. The quality is good, but it's just much too short.

I would like the upgrade progress to be much quicker. Maybe the coins could be worth more, the further you are in the level. Or maybe beating your own highscore give you a bonus?

Good job on giving me the will to pursue this Minindiana Jones guy to get his money and become more beautiful as the boulder I always wanted to be.
Nice art and sound effects, nice music too but it would be nice to be able to mute the game / decrease & increase volume.

I love the idea to play as the ball. The game feels very well polished, but I would suggest that when you land on the edge of a pit, maybe do damage instead of instadeath.
