two tapes

I really loved to play this game. What a cool concept finding tapes and looping/manipulating them to find the correct part to open doors. Music and Art style was also great!

You guys mate a great work here, really impressed. Everything felt smooth and well made and you got really into the atmosphere. The only feedback i have is that when you click on the rewind/forward buttons they should increment by 1 instead of keep incrementing until stopped. I guess they work like that in real life but still it was hard to manage.

Overall a really a great puzzle game that captured me, well done!

Really polished game, loved the music, SFX and the writing. I love point and click adventure games and really feel like we don't see them enough in game jams.

I love the way you used the tapes as keys, just curious if there is actually a way to break the loop, cause I could only open those 4 doors... should I keep looking, or is that the end? (Kind of tricky to judge for a lot of entries when they end, because of the theme :shrug:)

This was one of the most artistically pleasing entries i've seen so far. I enjoyed the tape puzzles but found the word solving puzzles a bit tricky and ended up randomly clicking until I solved at least 1 of them. I got stuck after finishing my first loop and was unsure how to continue. I felt like while the game generally felt polished I would have appreciated right mouse dragging the camera and perhaps only to need 1 click per button during the word game.

@appoxgames Yeah, sorry, it is more "realistic", but also I felt you would need to fully rewind more often (because you messed up a puzzle and want to quickly rewind/reset both tapes for example). You can still do precision timing by clicking twice kind of.

@copito That's a nice point about the right click dragging (or just dragging anywhere to move the camera I guess). Sorry about the buttons, I should have made the dialogue system not wait for user input in that specific case.

Super unique spin on the loop concept :)

I love the art style and the direction.

I really like the mood, and the room spirits have a charming personality.

Haven't gotten to the end yet though, three cassettes makes it quite challenging. The graphics are also very unique.

The only thing that I can think of to make it a bit easier would making the rewind and forward buttons be holdable instead of toggleable, and make it loop to the end when you rewind lower than 0.

I really liked the aesthetic and the idea. Puzzles (at least the ones I made) were interesting, but could be frustrating. But maybe that comes with the point & click style haha. Great game!

Really interesting concept for a puzzle game, glad you brought it to my stream. As we discussed, I think it really needed a visual indication that extra notes would prevent a door from unlocking, like making them glow red or something. That would have saved me quite a few minutes of being stuck down a rabbithole.

Nice use of musical concepts and a refreshing if literal take on "loop".

Very good game! Unfortunately i had to stop playing at the third room that required playing two different cassettes at the same time to unlock because it was too much for my puny mind to comprehend. Loved the entry! :)

@jefvel Yeah, I have seen many people struggling with the rewind/forward buttons now. There is clearly a lot in that bit of the UI that could be improved. As it is I went for some kind of "realism", but maybe it should have just been one click = one tick back (resp. forward), and optionally hold for more ticks.

Is it that it can't be done with the mouse by dragging? For the record I think all of the aforementioned could be improved, but I am wondering if you meant something different still (:

@blotosaur The communication could certainly be improved. Still, it is difficult to balance the "retro" with "usability", given how obscure some classic point 'n click puzzles used to be!

I remember you actually making it through my LD 42 entry ([Runnink out of Space](https://ludum.thenet.sk/ld42/)) with similar dedication, glad to see that's still there :D The weight sequence you noticed in the walkthrough is told to the player after solving the second part of the 3-button puzzle, although it seems a bit arbitrary in the walkthrough.

This was ridiculously well done. From the art, to the audio, to the tape concept for puzzles... Damn. The story was weird (which is a good thing) but maybe a bit hermetic. I might be dumb, but the later stages of the puzzles were lost on me (had to check the walkthrough). Maybe adjust the progression? Hard to tell, since puzzles outside of the main mechanic were introduced which makes it harder to balance. Amazing entry overall, really impressive, keep up the amazing work!

Cool concepts and cool mechanics, and all very polished! That tapes didn't loop perfectly, but continue on their second loop from where they left off made it really hard on the later door puzzles. Humor was on point too! Huge props for such a well rounded jam game!

Awesome visual style and great atmosphere! Tape puzzles were nice and the first cryptic hint I could find worked well. The remaining hints were too cryptic for me but I'm happy you provided a walkthrough so I could still see all the endings and everything I missed. One of the few jam entries I actually wanted to play again and again to see everything there is to it. Great job on the game :thumbsup:

A very full game experience! The graphics and cool music really help sell the concept and get you invested. Very clever and engaging puzzles, however a bit too tricky for me to line up things correctly as you got further.

That's a very good entry :) The concept is really interesting and puzzles were quite well balanced. The rewind/forward could be a little more user-friendly by allowing step-by-step movements, but I could accommodate this minor issue quickly. Good job!
