- A liked the 3d sounds effects, you guys used our ears as a mechanic.
- The environment is very nice as well, congratulations.
Overall, I thought the game was great. It was simple, but kept me engaged. I loved the fact that you used sound as the method for finding planets. That was very neat! Great job!
I like the visual style, the pixel art is really nice, and I like the colours. But I'm not a huge fan of varying pixel sizes, particularly the comparatively high resolution fonts. Actually, I think if you stripped away most of the UI it could be quite beautiful.
I think it could be developed further into a commercial project, pretty interesting. I was able to find a new home for us, humans! \o/
Congrats to both of you, solid entry.
About the game visual aesthetics, I really love the limited palette and the minimalistic pixel art - however, I needed to see the game description to catch what each symbol are.
TL;DR - really liked the concept, would play a extended version of this concept
The graphics have a nice retro touch. I actually like the two-color palette. The colors work well together and are nice to look at.
Well done!
I ran out of heat most of the time due to particular randomness in finding resources, but will keep trying to find the new home!
Can't really find any valid criticism apart from some ideas to make the game play a little more intriguing. I think I would enjoy some gravity around the planets to make the fight for heat during sun flybys more interesting for example. Or some shooting mechanics to fight off aliens/metroids.
Great game to build more upan. Good job!
Definitely I want to see this game worked through. Hang to your seats Ur-Quan Masters!
Great work
Neat game, it really reminded me of one of your previous entries (Soundscapes). After the initial novelty of the game, it was maybe a bit too RNG-based.
Would also love to see a version that has a smoother introduction and more concepts around the exploration of the sound as mechanic.
Maybe I just didn't spend long enough looking, but I'd love to have a bit more stuff to find! Those first few minutes of blindly exploring and trying to figure out what was making each sound was a blast, and I'd love to see that taken beyond the small handful of things present in the jam version.
Absolutely take this further post-jam!
Congrats!
ETA: Thanks for bringing your game by my stream to check out. The highlight is at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617290854
Thank you very much for the feedback
Also a great art style. I felt lost at times but that fits the game's tone. The interface has a lovely look and feel to it and the game was fun. Good job!
The graphics are very clean, doing this with only two colors is impressive
One of my favorite games of this Jam so far!
The sensation of exploration and flying across the emptiness of the space unearth some feeelings I had years ago while playing Armada Online! Wish the scenario could be something more procedural and "infinite" to give the sensation of an open sandbox to explore!
If you want to know the timestamp of when your game was played you can see it in this spreadsheet:

And then look in my latest videos and find your game being play (after the current stream ends)

It would be great if the progression of the game was a little more directed, perhaps uncovering the fog of war on a minimap as you explored, or instead have the goal be to survive for X amount of time.
Great game, thanks for submitting!
Greato Jobu!
We streamed the gameplay live on our twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/firesplashtv), watch out for the highlights of todays VOD ;)
Also even a few different shades of colour can work really well to make things look better.
Things tend to look better in retro pixel art style when you keep the same pixel resolution.
Note in Unity if you render to texture then scale the texture and put it in front of it's own camera you can ensure all the pixels have the same ratio.
love the game and the idea with the sound. has a pleasant atmosphere and is ideal to relax a little. congratulations.
I like that you did different sprites for ships! Kept replaying partly because I was curious which ship I'll get next time :D
