Roller Riches
Or How I Learned to Stop Caring About Guests and Drain Their Wallets

The Game
Inspired by the incremental genre, your goal is to build a roller coaster that coaxes poor suckers (your guests) out of their money. Forget the entrance fees - get them stuck in your roller coaster loops, and the money will fall right out of poorly secured wallets! The longer they stay in the loop, the more cash you get. The more cash you get, the easier it is to get more cash... easy!
Controls
- Can be entirely mouse driven
- Number keys to select buildings
- A/D to scroll camera
- R to open Research
Notes
- We recommend the WebGL Player!

Played all the way to establishing the NWO :)
Nice work on this entry
Well done.
I'm a sucker for pixelart and it is really nice, thumbs up. In the beginning I needed a bit of time to figure out that I had to upgrade instead of clicking constantly. Also, the game would have benefitted a lot from implementing some sounds, something like the screams and ambient audio in Rollercoaster Tycoon. Simple idea but fun idea with a great execution, well done!
@mrwahloh Totally agree with you on the sound effects - I was imagining RCT sounds the entire time we were developing this.
Its well implemented though, the art is quite nice and i agree with other commenters that it needs sound.

- Audio. This game needs a background music and some sound effects.
- There's nothing interesting with the theme. I guess its because they lose money when they go through the loops? Because the ride goes in a loop? Regardless, it's a great game and theme is only one category. It doesn't really matter.
- When I developed the track as far as I could there was no indicator it was the limit. It just wouldn't go farther when I held "a".
- For larger numbers I would prefer if they were expressed with exponents (5 * 10^6 rather than 5,000,000). Also would prefer round numbers. If all the numbers are like 56,422,324 they are harder to compare.
Overall amazing game.

Based on your feedback, and for my own personal enjoyment, I've added some sound effects to the game. In the interest of transparency, and since I can't upload multiple versions of the WebGL player, I've added a very clear warning that you should not play with sound effects if you are judging for LD47.
Jokes aside, great little incremental game, fun in its own way and satisfying. good job!
I just don't understand was train parking was made for.
Good job on this game, it's a nice entry!
You did an interesting gamble here regarding the upgrades. You don't actually get to touch your track much early on, and you're forced to look at the research more. At first I had a slight hint of annoyance because it felt like it was going to take forever before I could add a second loop.
However, this was actually pretty effective for me. The loops were a huge breadcrumb. I saw your gifs earlier and thought "I want that too". So it became a goal for myself and I was willing to trudge through it all to get there haha. Dunno if you intended that but it worked for me.
One thing that was unfortunate was that the research panel covered up the screen. The game is a real joy to watch, but I had to keep that open because upgrades come in fairly fast in the midgame.
I really liked what you did here, you got me playing for a while. I actually personally am interested in evolving the incremental genre as well so you get extra points from me :)
Regarding the audio : I disabled it for the first part of the game and re-enabled it for the second part, and may I say that it adds so much to the experience! So even if you think it's your weakest skill, you should definitely try to spend 2-3 hours during the jam to make it! The music not only serve the "Audio" category, but also "overall", "fun", "mood" and in this case "humour", it's totally worth the time spent!
Great entry!
I love idle / clickers game. And this definitely fits the category :)
Well done!

Love me some incremental games and tycoon games. Checking this one out was a no brainer, and I'm genuinely impressed at the depth it got. The mechanics make sense and are straightforward (even if some stats like train parking were never relevant or comprehensible to me), and I like how it has some fun nods like the Bezos and Do no evil. Given the jam time, it was expected for it to not be properly balanced here and there, but otherwise, I'd say it's among the most fun thematic clickers I've played.
It's a very solid incremental game. You can bet I'm rating this one quite high. So far, my favorite from the jam. And good luck in reconstructing it! I would really like to see where this goes. 🐳
Thoughts:
* I want a faster trains upgrade!
* Holy cow, putting a bank in the middle of a roller coaster. Genius.
* "Market how succulent the caviar is." This might be the first actually funny game I've played across my 6 Ludum Dares
* I just love how (almost) every aspect of the roller coaster and associated scheme can be improved. The research system is excellently done.
* Perfect length for rating an idle game.

Super well done all around!
Thanks for making it!
I have no feedback for you! But maybe some better sprite can helps a bit with the game!
I just didn't really know what the DO NO EVIL or DO EVIL buttons changed apart from the amount of money you made
also some sound would of course have been nice (I rated LD version)
overall great game
A really nice effort overall, one of my favourites from this jam.
One thing that could improve the experience is if you explained how much money does each part of ride liberate your guests of their money, and also some stat screen for us nerds, so we can optimize our rides for maximum output.
Very nice entry!
Really enjoyed some of the research options!
Always appreciate the use of standard form as well
One minor thing is that the upgrade window blocked the main view. As you play most of the game from the upgrade window you miss the rollercoaster doing the sick loopdeloops.
Really fun though!
But the loop works really well and the game was a lot of Fun.
Works smoothly. A lot to do. Huge Content. Great Animations.
I really liked the Game and liked especially that the Game is "Winnable".
Well Done Good Job

I love a good clicker. And the visual presentation in this one was superb!
Well done! I've been going for 45+ minutes now, and I haven't stopped. That's saying something!
This is definitely worthy of a computer or mobile game! You'll need to add savegame support though.
Overall, the end could be shorter

A well made and polished game and a solid entry! Congratulations and all the best!
Amazing game and a really good job!
