Took me a while to realize that the levels actually progressed and almost closed the game after the first round when i saw that the fuel drained so slowly haha. I think that the player should be rewarded with extra km if they deliver the coal sooner, otherwise the best strat is to wait until you are almost out of coal and then dump it which is boring if players are going for a high score. it could also be nice if you only had to walk over one train car on the way to the coal and the train cars spawn in when you enter the coal car.
