I'm not sure how to play this one. I got the keypad to show and had the numbers behind the painting but couldn't figure out how to dial or change anything :(

I managed to escape, but I must admit I cheated by reading the code. I can see how you are supposed to work out the solution, but I couldn't myself. The phone numbers on the note not doing anything made me think that the phone didn't work, or I typed the numbers in wrong. If they worked but were not helpful, I can see how I might have worked out the actual solution.
