Nature's Balance by Eric Bostic

[raw]
made by Eric Bostic for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

Gameplay LaterMid.PNGWelcome to Nature's Balance! You are given a plot of empty land and a little bit of money, and your job is to build up a forest. Use the money you are given to place plants and animals, earning more money with each living thing in your forest. But be careful: will the rabbit you just added reproduce out of control and wipe out your vegetation, or will the wolves hunt them to extinction? Can you keep your forest growing, and more importantly, can you keep it alive?

This is my first ever game jam submission. I have been teaching myself to code as a hobby for the past two years or so, and while I am certainly no artist or game designer, I'm excited to have completed a project and get your feedback!

Cool idea - the graphics could use a bit more work. It all clashes a bit too much.

Very relaxing game, the music fits perfectly. I love the game loop, played until I had over 1400 living things. A feature I would really like to see is a line graph of the population dynamics :)

there is a bug - hunger doesn't deplete somehow...

So yes there were 1000 wolves xD

A very relaxing game but not challenging
