Welcome to Atomos! :atom:

Atomos is a game about leveling up an atom by adding protons.

You are commandeering a single proton on its way to the core. Avoid the electrons, rotating on their shells, or something bad happens! (we aren't that familiar with physics, but we assumed the worst)

Remarks

Due to dietary (but mostly work-related) restrictions (actually only work-related restrictions), we had to finish our game a day early. We were surprised how well we managed to stick to our timetable!

Really simple game principle but a lot of fun. I like it.
I think this would also be a great mobile game with adapted controls and maybe a backing track....

What a cool game based on tha classical model of the atom ! You could have made the game with atomic orbital and porbability of precense >u<. Anyways, it is a really good game but a music is needed ! Well done all of you !! (^u^)

While brainstorming for our game we also thought about your interpretation. Its really cool to see this game since we completely scrapped the idea. Especially since you did a really job!

The game is really nice in its simplicity and fits the theme very well. I had fun playing it!

If you plan on developing it further I think it would be cool to see a visual representation of the reached element on the periodic table. My highest score by now ist [Sc] but I will try again for sure as the atom-theme leaves me very curious what comes with higher numbers. (Or should I say... Marie Curi-ous xD)

Hey, so... Feedback:

Easy to learn, hard to master. I like it! My top score is Copper(29). If I had to criticize one thing it would be that it's really silent. Some light-hearted quiet music would make it that so much better.

Personally, I think this is a fine addition to the jam. :thumbsup:

@oxalotte @northman64 Thanks for your feedback! We were a bit short on time, and couldn't really come up with some nice music that suited the feel of the game and its visuals. In the end, we decided that we rather have only sound effects than an annoying and somewhat "off" background audio :)

What a cool idea! I love the way you combined the chemistry with the level design. I would have to agree though, that adding some music would help the game become even more fun. Also the way the game zooms in when you get closer to the core is a really nice touch. Well done!

Fun and simple gameplay, polished little puzzle-action game as I like to play with. I will not say anything about missing music, because I didn't manage to add any myself :laughing:

Really cool game. Liked the chemistry tie in theme. Would have liked to see more visual feedback on the element you were at, although in a jam I understand that might have not been possible. Looking forward to seeing more.

A super simple and fun little game idea. I wish there was a bit more to do, and the game really needs some music and perhaps some more sound effects. Overall is this a fun little jam game. Well done.

Liked the interpretation of the theme.

The pencil on paper aesthetic is cool too, and the difficulty curve works really well!
