Why would I ever do such a thing like blowing up planets?
Conquer and mine is always more practical.
The progression level is harsh : first one is a breeze, and direct on the start of the second level I was hit hard!
I could not figure out the missile, and without some kind of minimap you lose a bit of context ( where is the planet, where are the ennemies, is my planet ok ). Some of it can be ok, so that you go and check back.
Music is nice, sound effects are good, art work is compelling !
A great jam game!
I appreciate the sound feedback for shields up and down on the enemy planet, and explosion particles were really clean and neat.
I kept on playing because I was curious about if the levels were set or random, and it turns out they run out (the last one is a purple planet with really fast spaceships).
Some feedback of what level are you in would be nice, or maybe giving a feedback of what's the last level.
Still, it's definitely a great game.
Also I noticed that your planet can still shoot in the direction your spaceship was shooting when you died, but I'm not sure if that's a bug or it's intended.
That said, the ship movement seems a bit stuttery, probably not updating the positions at the right time. Also you can shoot when respawning :P
Well done!
The only complaint I really have is that moving side-to-side seemed a bit odd, and moving seemed a bit choppy.
Two minor things I noticed: After one level I was unable to click next level (nothing happened on clicking), did I finish the game? You can shoot while you're dead.
Maybe the enemies could profit from leading their shots. Just linearly extrapolating where their target will be when the bullet arrives.
Overall though, great game and good job!
Nice game. Towards the end I was a bit unhappy that there was not much variation. The strategy of being far from the enemy planet and strafe-circling when the enemies were around was pretty much all that was needed. Perhaps the enemies could have different shooting patterns? Enemies that actually try to lead their shots? Kamikaze enemies? Etc.
If you want to know the timestamp of when your game was played you can see it in this spreadsheet:

And then look in my latest videos and find your game being play (after the current stream ends)

I found it a bit confusing that the player ship re-spawns behind the home planet an not above it. Perhaps I was doing something wrong.
