Keep the remote control safe [unfinished] by Damoy

[raw]
made by Damoy for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Hello Roger the TV lover ! You have been teleported to the age of "Le Roi Arthur" because of a magic remote control. Yes, this is an astonishing news. You have to keep it alive and bring it to the castle in order to save the King who has been attacked by the Knights of "La Table Ronde". The magic contained in the remote control (and produced by Merlin) will be allow to save the King.

Well, it was the initial story background.

We were two people working on a adventure 2D game from scratch using Python Pygame library. We had less time than expected (initially planning for the Ludum and not the compo) and were new with the tech. The result is a mix of bugs and beginning of a small engine/game. So not really a success :joy: Still, good to share :)

Hope you have been more successful than us !

You can get stuck in enemies and the attack direction doesn't change if you start diagonal and then continue to move into one direction

I didn’t understand what was required of me ( *I’m probably stupid XD* ). I have run around the map, killed monsters, collected scrolls (with the same text). After I have collected one such scroll, the character disappeared, and the camera gradually moved to the beginning of the game  Anyway, It's cool that you made the game on the python lib

Bonjour,

I would prefer that the player stay at the center of the camera, because I ran into enemies and walls too often.

Also there are some bugs. One time I picked up a note and the camera started moving towards the bottom left corner of the map. All I could do was restart the game.

Bien joué quand même

Greetings from the PyGame community! Your game is a good test case for our new and improved version 2.0 of pygame. It will feature automatic, hardware-accelerated window upscaling, but it looks like your game is crashing on the current pygame master, so we have a way to go still.
