Holy shit! nice! I love the point and click movment, makes me wish I did such a thing too. It's really awesome how pretty everything looks. I'm genuently stunned. I do think you could have made a few more interactions with different objects maybe so that the player has a bit more agency rather than guessing. perhaps drop some clues in dialogue, have the kings men give some advice to the general on what is good as fortification. But on the other hand I got the best outcome the first time around even though I felt a little clueless, so maybe it's just me :P anyway, I love it! really nice

@landerack Thanks a lot for your feedback! Well I originally planned to do lot more, but as always during LD jams, I just couldn't make it, so I had to cut the whole idea into this. Maybe I will work on the game after LD ratings are finished. I just liked the idea of being a general in the castle siege :)

If you do, let me know, I'd like to play more of it ^^ do have someone check your words though, a few minor mistakes in there ;) but I'd love to play more, it's super cool

This looks amazing! Any chance it could be made available for Mac or web?

@milestone-games Thanks. Sorry, I can't do that. I am not a coder and I don't know how to port these. I also work with Adventure Game Studio which is rather outdated software, so there isn't even option to play the game in a browser.

Awesome graphics and background audio. Not much in terms of gameplay but a very nice mood, I wish there was more.

Nice game ! You succed to build a tension with greath art, sound and dialogue. But the gameplay was a bit weak and i didn't know how i win, anyway good job for a jam game

Very nice graphics! The font reminds me of Secret of Monkey Island dialog, so  I wish there was more to do, but as a game jam game that's of course alright  I think you should hint at the right choice in battle, so maybe the king telling a story about a general who charged the enemy and failed etc. because like this it is a guessing game.

Positives: lovely warm colourscheme, and good art backed up by fluid animation. The design choice of showing characters as silhouettes lit by torchlight was a good one.
Negatives: the writing was a bit flat, and victory at the end felt unearned from the choices provided.
Enjoyed it overall. You have a good eye for dramatic scene design.

Wow! That's a superb game! I liked every bit of it, too bad it's short. The graphics is excellent, the writing is great and the sound design is setting the right mood. Maybe it would be great to solve more puzzles, but overall it's a great game!

Top marks for art for sure. Loved the LucasArts vibes. Sound also great for 48h. Short on gameplay, but to be expected with the effort that went into the visuals. If it were longer I'd buy it for sure.

The mood is top notch. The small lights on the horizon when the army is coming were really threatening! Good job!

Great game! It said I got the best ending :)

It was a very clever decision to make the game take place in the evening so that the characters could all be silhouettes. Your pixel art is gorgeous. I liked the backstory you came up with, makes me want to play more stuff in this world! Good job on your entry.

Great job. Got the good ending. I loved to see the scenery change as the enemy attacked. Nicely done!
Definitely smart choices to go for silhouettes for the art.

Great and interesting game. The art is nice and very clever choosen with the time setting. Sound effects help creating the right mood. Its a bit short and the gameplay is more like "guessing" than knowing what works best. Buy hey its a jam entry. Nicely done!

It's amazing how someone can create such a mood with just a few moving pictures. The sound effects have of course also contributed to this. I read all the voices aloud in different accents. It was fun ;)

Not got much to say that hasn't been said above, but really gorgeous (and economical) art and composition! That along with the animation and sound design was enough to give this heaps of atmosphere.

I love high constrast striking styles like this, blocks of colour and light just hinting at shapes, it looks fantasic. Great dramatic theme too. Plus I have a big soft spot for AGS games, so I really enjoyed it

A few typos in the text, but it didn't prevent me from really enjoying it. Lovely art style, and as others said your choice of color palette makes a pretty neat atmosphere. I'm also sucker for point & click narrative games like this, played it a few times to get all the endings. I really wish it was a bit longer with a few more choices, though. Great work !

Really enjoyed the mood in your game. Despite the short development and playtime, you managed to create an atmospheric and coherent narrative. Good Job!

Wow, very nice graphics, though it was super bleak. I would have liked a few more options during the game but I apreshiated the different endings and that how you get them makes a lot of sense if you understand a bit about defending a castle.

I like how you convey detail. The pixels in the backgroud indicating an army approaching was pretty neat^^

Interesting little point and click

This was a very great game!! I love the point n click vibes, gives me faith for when I'll work on my own game!
The graphics were good, and I managed to save the castle with the best outcome o/

Great little story! Congrats! Love the graphics and the dark realistic story. Was this made in AGS? Wanted more from the map, but cool ephemera! Thanks so much for the game!

Oh wow, this has potential. The style and the story are good. It's a shame that it is so short, it doesn't feel like a whole game. You have to make 2 choices and save the kingdom. But with that atmosphere, I wish there was more to do.

Fun, if short and simple. I felt that you really did well with the theme. You told a very emotional story in a very short space. Well done!

Wow, this game is so nice. Delivers so much narration in such limited time and area. I wish I could do graphics like that, so simple yet sets up such powerful mood. Great job! I am curious, what did you use to make it?
I hope to see more from you in the future. Cheers!

Short but very effective. I like the minimal yet very ambiant graphics, as the sound. And this nice idea to merge a mini-point'n'click with strategy, neat! Well done :)

This game made by Gabriel is very strong in mood, maybe one of the top games in this category.
The Mechanics are simple, clear and effective, and foreshadowing early, that there are multiple outcomes in Last Hope's scenario, create a desire for replaying it instantly and before you finish your first run.
Admittedly I would like to see things like a menu, with something like the option to restart the game without closing and some minor improvements & polish on a nice game like yours.
In addition it is a quite well representative of the Point&Click genre - and I would like rate to games by how they are good at a genre, mix or spin of a genre(s) instead of "pure" innovation.
Btw. in my first run I've already got the best solution, which I am unmildly proud of. ;)

I really like the mood of this game! Beautiful artwork and great sounds (especially of the battle). Would be great to be able to talk with more people, like other soldiers giving the character advice or telling their stories

Dear sir Davidu,

the graphics are GORGEOUS! The mood, the lights

Also the sounds are well fitting!

I would appreciate some visual hint of where are clickable doors.

The story was a bit shallow for your skills, but it was well written.

So, I managed to play one of your games for the last two years. Yay! :)

Keep going!
