Mother Of Dragon by ceriseghost

cover2.jpg

Keep the egg safe by shooting the enemies and collecting their dead bodies to feed your dragon. Keep it alive!

My partner and I made this together. She came up with the idea and drew the graphics while I put them into game form

:)

To play the game, use W A S D to move around and left mouse button to shoot arrows. Shoot the enemies, collect their bodies to feed the dragon. When you max out the Dragons health bar, you move onto the next level.

This game takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

We hope you enjoy!

Really loved the art style and had to play trough the whole game just to see if there was more dragon forms left :3 The game could have been a bit more difficult though. Maybe multiple waves of the soldiers or something else; felt a bit too easy.

I love the concept and the art! The gameplay was good at first, but became tedious pretty quickly. The most exciting thing that happened was the sudden appearance of soldiers, but then they never spawned again. I also kept playing to try to reach an ending of some kind, but never found one, only later realizing that it is "endless". It would've been great if there were two modes: story mode and endless mode. The reason I suggest story mode is that with the beautiful art done for the title screen, an ending screen with your dragon fully grown and looking majestic would be the perfect thing to give closure. As it is, I had no choice but to either quit the game or let my dragon die to see what happened.

I wish I could give a rating, but sadly my wife and I weren't able to finish in time due to technical issues, so we're not able to rate anything. Anyway, great job you two!

Cute little game! I have one tip on the tecnical side, when you move diagonaly you are moving at double the speed, you forgot to check if the player was using two inputs at the same time to adjust his speed, you are probably just adding speed for each type of input (vertical and horizontal), either check them or use pitagoras theorem to solve this. Otherwise i share the same opinions as Thaedos above me.

Original graphism. The concept is simple yet fun. It is a good idea to collect the meat when we kill an ennemy, this obliges the player to move. Maye a bit repetitive, could be fun to unlock a new weapon at some point just for more diversity =) Congratulation

Cool concept, well thought that the dragon doesn't hatch instantly but rather enters different phrases, in which you have to protect it. A bit repetitive and feels like the longer you play, the easier it gets. Maybe more enemies quicker? Great work overall, good job!

The firing/aiming was really smooth and easy to use, which can be tricky to pull off during a time frame like this, so well done on that front. I also enjoyed the multiple dragon forms. As others have mentioned, it did feel a bit too easy, but if you managed to tweak the enemy balance so it's more challenging, and maybe ramp up the enemy variation a bit by bringing in the soldiers earlier it could be really fun. Nicely made!

I really enjoyed the game, I like the idea of how you adapted the series to the theme, congrats on that. Please don't let the player go through the egg/dragon. The art is really beautiful, I also liked the sound feedback. I agree that the game can get a little tiring. I think that, as we can shoot even when we are walking to get food, maybe if the movement was also through the click, things could become more dynamic without having to change the speed of the enemies.

I really enjoyed the art. Hand-drawn art is a great way to utilize a skill you have, and the way you used it was a clever way of only needing 10 or so drawings.

Gameplay is decent. Dragged on a little bit without much ramped up challenge, but I enjoyed it for what it was!

Thank you for sharing.

I liked the artstyle. Some music would be nice since it is a jam game and some different challenge, gun or something like that would be nice refresher. :)

This game could have more ratings and more people would enjoy it if only you would take a time to be active member of the community.

I like the artstyle of the game. It turns a bit slow at dragon level 3, but this is a solid game in other aspects

I love that hand-drawn art, great stuff! The gameplay has a good balance of elements and is just the right level of difficulty and length for a jam. Good job!

A really neat game, and I liked the art style! I think the balance could have done with some tweaking, either increasing the speed of the player or the damage done. Due to the random nature of the enemy spawning, sometimes it was easy to become overrun by the number of enemies. I did also find a bug, which is after you die you can't then rotate around to shoot at things, you're stuck facing in one direction. Overall, great effort

Nice idea and artwork! Good job for your couple!

I don't know if it's a bug: I think I played around 20min and the game was still going on endless. I once saw four armored enemies but only that four. Or maybe it's the Chrome issue.

Not sure how many levels are there, but it feels the dragon hardly grows after level3. Maybe it is the true feeling of a dragon mother :smirk:
