What is Activated?

Activated is a puzzle game where you guide the robots to the exit and save them from deadly spikes of the test chambers by making bridges and portals.

Current Status:

  • Beautiful 1-bit style art (with a tiny bit of red mixed in)
  • Implemented the basic mechanics (Portals and Bridges)
  • Only 2 levels (One for portals and one for the bridges)
  • Support for basically any platform (Thank you Unity!)

Things we missed:

  • We had prepared a bunch of voice lines for the robots to make them more human but didn't get to implement them in time
  • We had one more level made but couldn't add it to the final version because of a game breaking bug
  • Couldn't add volume options in time (Sorry for the deafening sound)
  • Couldn't add our sound effects in time
  • Had a drop bridge that we completed but didn't manage to add into the level

Future Plans:

  • More levels
  • More mechanics
  • More sounds
  • More music (Basically more everything)
  • Possible mobile version?

Post-Jam Changes:

  • Added HTML build

Really liked the graphics and style. Gameplay was simple to understand. The levels were a little basic, but Im sure you could build this up a ton and make some really complex levels. Nicely done!

Cool old school graphics and music. Its a shame it is so short ! It has a lot of potential.

It's just awesome. Everything looks so harmonious. And the gameplay and art. Everything is at a very high level.

The design as a whole is amazing! From visual design to game design, you nailed the mood you were trying to go for.
More levels would be amazing!

There is one more thing tho, anything you could do to reduce the need to wait for a robot (or multiple robots to line up how you want them), a fast forward button or something, would go a long way towards the final game.
It might not be a large issue in these 2 levels, but I think it might become one as more levels are added.

Great work!

@santriptasharma Thanks for the suggestion. A fast forward button would help with the flow of the game a lot.

Nice pixel art, cool concept which has a potential for sure. Not sure that HTML5 build is stable, after 2nd level I got blank screen and that's all. Thanks for the game experience, anyway, it should be released on Android devices!

Good game! I like the idea. The graphics are so good. The game is a liitle slow and easy, and I would have liked the tutorials to be clearer, although the game is easy to understand. Good work! I'll be waiting for more levels.

@room606 Yeah there are only two levels and the game just fades to a blank screen when you finish(Wasn't intended we just didn't implement an end screen in time). We intend to develop the game further, put a couple more levels on itch then develop a mobile version.

@dedicave We will continue to develop the game and we plan on adding a full and interactive tutorial for the future version. Thank you for the feedback!

I like it! Reminds me of March of the Minis. All it needs is some more levels. Also, why is there a zipper on the level select screen?

@mao zipper will be a scroll wheel when the game has more levels

Concept is very cool and worked well for the two mechanics. Sadly only two levels and no ending. But great job! I liked the little robots very much!

@shadow30 We're planning to add more levels and mechanics in the future

Great visuals and very interesting bridge building mechanics! I had some troubles trying to understand why on certain clicks bridges were deactivated and on other - not, but overall I enjoyed the experience.

It is in dire need of "more everything", but it has much of the core pieces in place to do so. If you're going for mobile you might want to consider turning up the size of the graphics a bit (or zoom in the camera) so that it won't get cluttery on a phone screen.

Well done!

Graphics and music were great! The game as a whole reminded me a lot of mario vs donkey kong. Can't wait to see where this goes!

I really like the art style, and this is a cool take on a lemmings style game. It's unfortunate you didn't have more time to create more levels. One little tweak I'd recommend is to add a button to fast forward so you didn't have to wait after solving a puzzle.

Good work! I'd love to see this expanded with more content.

Love the music and the concept ! I was really sad that it was only two levels. I will be really happy to play more of this ! Great job

@khud0 Thank you for the feedback. If you could tell us what exactly confused you about it we could improve the tutorial of the full version in the future.

@icxon Thank you for the feedback and the game-play. It's very informative to see how someone outside of development plays the game and highlights the importance of a proper tutorial.
