Body and Soul by blabberf

You are dead. Almost. Although your ghost has separated from your body, there is a tiny flicker of life left in your semi-corpse. Luckily, you died just meters away from the Spring of Life, and your body begins to slowly shamble towards it.
Defend your body from evil spirits while it shuffles its way towards the Spring of Life, and use essence dropped by enemies to become more powerful!

Seriously though, great game, amazing sound design, and lovely pixel art. Amazing!
Even the tutorial was really well done and very clear.
Super addicting game overall. Awesome work!
Art choices were all great - I did get a little disoriented when around all the baddies, not knowing exactly where I was destroying stuff.
Sound was solid and fit with the action.
Pacing was just the best.
The game gives you everything you need to understand the game - which is difficult to pull off. Big Win!
Your take on the theme was very similar to mine, you should check out my game ;) I really like your zombie's walk animation.
Some criticism is that the essence visually looked dangerous to me, so I thought my guy was being pelted by projectiles nonstop and I had no way to stop them. I knew the HP wasn't going down but it still took me a while to realize those were beneficial, and that there was only 1 projectile monster in the game.
Overall I definitely wanted to play this game from start to end. Very addictive, and in my winning run I actually didn't have any duplicate upgrades (where 1 weapon replaced another) so it really made me wonder how strong my character could get. Awesome job, engaging game!
Personal story aside, it's a strong entry! Good job
EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention, the intro and tutorial is just great. I also liked to be able to skip it when replaying.
Congratulations!
