Keep It Ticking! by auxC

Alright, here's the mission briefing:

  1. Infiltrate the Evil Hideout.
  2. Steal all the gadgets.
  3. Collect 5 secret codes to defuse the bomb.
  4. Which explodes in 10 seconds???
  5. Time travel!

We made a platformer where you go back in time over and over to save yourself from being exploded. It went about as well as you could expect. Let's hope we managed to pack some good fun in it, on top of all the bugs!

  1. WASD to move.
  2. LMB to shoot (but you need to find a gun first).
  3. RMB to jump back in time (and space, cause reasons).
  4. Space to jump.

Disclaimer: The official recommended way to play this game is to clone yourself at least a 100 times and jump around like a monkey.

(Edit) Fixed the desync bug a lot of you mentioned in the comments. Should happen a lot less frequently now! 🤞

Amazing game. It's so satisfying how you make just a tiny bit of progress each run and restart to build upon that progress. Visuals are great and so is the overall gameplay. Could have used some music, but overall an awesome game.

Pretty good ! Really liking the idea of having to cleverly exploit your clones to go through each challenge. Also enjoying the cartoony art style and the overall design of the hideout. Just noticed that sometimes the clones don't go exactly to where I was before even if nothing interacts with them, don't know if it's a bug or not.

Very fun! Quite a unique concept as well. I couldn't get past the 3rd secret because of compounding errors caused my mirrors to only get to the later areas very inconsistently, but it that's to be expected from so much time travel...

It was a bit glitchy at times, but that's very understandable seeing as how there can be TONS of afterimages. It was chaotic and fun and good job.

Really liked the idea of this game and also how you build those sequences of actions to do your perfect run!

Nice one. The concept is really great, and the game is very easy to play and super fun. Sometimes, I have "clones" that are quite glitchy, they can shoot but they don't appear so they don't push plates. It makes the game quite difficult at the end.

Overall, it's really nice. Good job with this entry.

This is the best concept i've seen so far. You did an amazing job overall.

Clever concept, super chaotic! I noticed that past selves seem to interfere with each other or with my current self, requiring me to repeat past actions several times. Whether or not this is intentional, it challenges the player to try to complete the game with as few time-traveling trips as possible to minimize interference.
I really enjoyed this one! Just needs some music

Super concept with nice execution, that's the kind of jam games I love and one of the best idea I've seen so far ! It's really fun to play :) Congrats

That was really fun and chaotic. I couldn't get past page 3 because the clones started to be really buggy (some just didn't spawn at all some times) but I had a lot of fun with the concept. I especially liked when they all bounced on top of each other and you would bounce around everywhere.

This game is the best. I love everything in it. The idea, the art, the execution, the level design... perfectly on point. It feels great to control, and works well.

I don't know if it's a bug, or me not understanding everything that is happening, but some of myselves kept disappearing when they were supposed to be at key positions, so I had to record the same movements several times (especially for the 2 codes on the middle upper floor), but it was not too much of a hassle, because it was still a lot of fun to just jump around trying.

Totally flabbergasted. Amazing piece of work. Congrats on your entry!

Dude, you must win this. Really. The amount of fun is over 9000. I love the idea of time paradox to solve puzzles like this.

Fantastic mechanics with the time reversal and cloning. Took me a while to realise that people disappear at the point you reversed time (I'd assumed they'd just stand there) so it's a case of standing still until the very last second and then reverse time. This led to me blowing up a few times because I lot track of time.

Cool idea, and it has a nice polished feel to it thanks to good graphics and audio.
However, the "desyncing" seems to be a bit of a problem still, and it made it hard to plan your next move when previous runs would sometimes "randomly" not work. I think it would make sense to not actually let your clones interact with the world and just record their positions and interactions instead.

Great game! Maybe, if there is too many copies, they start to disappear..? I was disappointed that I couldn't have played it to the end, but it is AMAZING!

Great concept and the graphics are really gorgeous. Quite tough, but fun, and very satisfying when you coordinate a sequence really well. The "desyncing" is definitely not fixed unfortunately, and when you get to the part above the starting area it becomes a big problem as the clones rarely make it to where they are needed.

Great game! It is a cool concept and the 3D creation is very impressive for the time. I like it a lot!
