Love the core concept. I finished all the levels and enjoyed solving them all. Really clever level design, lovely and juicy animations and sound effects and no bullshit mechanics.

I may have missed something, but there seems to be no keyboard input at all (correction: there is shift for slow down), which I think is a shame - I kept pressing space bar to start/stop the brave, as it is the standard key for play in most video editing software etc., to which this game felt awfully similar to. Also I would have liked to see number hotkeys for items, r for restart. I don't like to having to keep hitting tiny buttons on the other side of the screen.

Music when Brave was moving was nice, but I would have liked some thinky music for the design part of the process.

I don't understand why it was only possible to slow down to 0.5, and not speed up, which was what I wanted most of the time anyway.

Also, the language is not the best, but that's not a big deal - most of the things were understandable.

Nice game! Graphics were nice and the puzzles were fun. I liked the multiple playthroughs that are required to get the complete picture of what is happening.

I agree that some keyboard shortcuts would have been nice. Really just a start and stop button.

Actually, I'm reading your comments above mine and it looks like you added some keyboard shortcuts. I guess I missed them.

The game is awesome! I believe it's one of the best I have played in LD46!
I finished the game and enjoyed each level of the game.
The art, audio and animation is also fantastic!

Just one question, have you considered melee rather than shoot?

@wxzuir In fact, it was originally intended to be a character who use guns, but I wanted to draw a fool charactor when I was drawing, that turned him into a muscular man with a crossbow XD
If he could use melee weapons, some of the levels would be hard to design, maybe we could just ask him to take out his sword when the enemy approached?hhhhh

This is a coolest game, that I've seen at this jam! Our team too had similar ideas, but we didn't continued it. But you made it and this amazing! Very clever game

I agree @rasti and @wxzuir this is a really well rounded and balanced game. The perfect balance of functionality, aesthetics and simpleness. Really fun to play.

Absolutely loved it! It felt very satisfying to figure out and plan the levels (reminded me somewhat of "Katana Zero" in that) and the difficulty increase curve is well-planned as well. Graphics is great and I positively adored the comic intro and ending.

And even though the music is not my cup of tea, I think it fits very well. Overall, very polished experience and a great game!

Can I ask, who was in charge for graphics..? ^^

Awesome idea =) some level designs were really clever. Others (like the first one with the star) felt more like bruteforcing the correct position due to the quirky jumping. Quite smart and nice-looking, sounds were top-notch as well.

To me, this one could easily win the Ludum Dare so far. I love it!
The graphics, sounds, game design, animations, the level os polishment in this game is surreal for a jam.
Congratulations, you did a awesome job!!

New version updated.
1.Lower the difficulty of Level3 and swap it with Level4
2.Buttons now display their function and shortcut key, reading tutorial is unnecessary for now.
3.Change the opening comic, it's now more understandable.

I beat the game, it was great! It was a really polished entry, and I loved the puzzles. You might want to warn about the slightly NSFW lower left panel on the end screen though.

so amazing you could make such a complete game with multiple levels in 3 days! I really enjoy the level design and gameplay for "orientate" the player and enemy actively. btw the slug looks familiar lol

The only reason the lower left panel is not fully NSFW is because the feathers from the arrow don't stick out between her fingers, therefor revealing the full consequence of his lack of attention. But she also walks away like her _____ was not pierce by an slime killing arrow, so maybe we are all wrong and in fact that was her reaction to a near miss, therefore making this whole scene SFW. I mean only if you do not take into consideration her shapes, clothes, position and expression, because in that case a NSFW warning should exist.

Damn, that was a long critique.

I love this game! This is how you do a puzzle game. The graphics and sound are vibrant, the puzzle design is sharp and the over all layout is easy to understand. The only issue I had was I wasn't about to finish a level because the key was too low.

Excellent entry. Good controls, puzzles/level design, difficulty, art, music, sound. I didn't see much use of the theme, though. (Just keeping your character alive is a bit of a cop-out because that is nearly every game ever.)

This was as far as I got... couldn't quite figure out how to reach the exit platform:

Okay, I am in love with this!!! Seriously. To be honest, I saw your post on Feeds, and saved it to try it out later... and ACK, it is so cute!!
I love this kind of game, where you place items as a puzzle and see if it works! I think people don't really make this kind of game nowadays and I miss it so much!!

I love the concept, musics, gameplay!
Very well done!!!!

Definitely got NSFW from the start. Good puzzles and good artwork. Good all around really. I did find trying to predict his movement when he sees an enemy to be a bit difficult as he did a full stop in the air one time when an enemy got in range.

Great game, very well done! We actually made an extremely similar game for our game jam (guide a duck back to his mom by placing helpful critters to help him navigate the world, frogs=spring, eagles=dash potion, blockers=signs, and we had a sugar glider as a parachute instead of a platform).

We definitely approached the level design differently though. Our levels are way more sprawling, and because of that, possibly more frustrating as it takes longer to see your plan executed. While this smaller level design limits the extent of puzzle, I think that it was a great design choice. If you get a chance, take a look at my game -- I'd be curious to see what you think of it seeing as they are so similar!

Thanks for the game and great job!

Pretty nice game, I was surprised how many levels you put together. Really liked the artstyle and sfx/music too.
I just read in the comments above about multiple endings, so I'll definitely have to give it another go! Guess I'll also find out if I passed some of those stages by pure luck ^^

Nice graphics. The comic strip was awesome! The levels were difficult but manageable. Sometime it was hard to predict the interactions but it was fun to discover the solutions! Great entry!

I enjoyed the game, it's a simple idea but the level design is indeed very clever.
The one with the invincibility star took me a while to figure out.

Graphics are old fashioned but very clean, I would definitely play the full version. Great game!

A fun game, I liked it. It was definately greatly polished. I would prefer if the grid visibility didn't turn on at the start of each level. The art was pretty, the puzzles nice, I enjoyed playing it. Also, the "slightly nsfw content" occured already at the intro, haha!
