Heartful Defense by Nelson William
A card-based tower defense where you try to protect your heart from evils!
Each turn you can use willpower to play cards that cast spells or build/upgrade towers. More willpower can be obtained by killing enemies. Your heart loses health whenever enemies reach it.
Try to be smart and modify the path that enemies take to the heart, increasing the amount of time your towers can attack them. Use the best combination of towers and upgrades. Oh, and don't forget your spells!
And if you think you're good enough, try your luck and skill in the 1-life challenge!

The Windows version is recommended but the HTML5 is good enough.

It feels really polished!
I agree that the difficulty is a bit off. I wish I had time to program more rules about how cards are drawn, to avoid having too many or too few towers. Also, different card types should've been indicated more clearly, probably with tags like 'Build', 'Upgrade' and 'Spell'. And when placing new buildings, the new path should be indicated.
Maybe I'll fix those things and possibly add more content if I have time. :)
Few things to point out :
1. Showing the new path before setting down an item like box or tower on the current path would be really helpful
2. At the starting it would be good to give atleast 2 towers costing 5 each and the rest random
I enoyed the game a lot, 33 minutes of gameplay uploading :p
Edit: Also I forgot to use wasd for the camera
I played untill the end, really enjoyed. I died 4 times before I really understood the game. Love the art, the music, the towers and upgrades, all awesome.
Great job!

I would have liked it better if you could change the structures afterwards, as I felt like I could never predict where the path is going to change towards if I built in walls (really liked that mechanic btw!) or at least show a preview (overlay or something) where this would be built.
The gameplay was challenging, the graphics nice and together with the msic and sound this made for an awesome mood :D
Really well done for a gamejam that you did all by yourself :)
I think if you continue to work on this this can be a really cool game, would also work pretty well as a mobile game!
