Quack Runner by Grumpy Wren Games

[raw]
made by Grumpy Wren Games for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

A giant wave comes crashing on the land, threatening to sweep you and your ducklings away. Run as far as you can and keep everyone alive!

Note that there is an occasional profanity with the quacks, we'll keep in mind making a PG version in the future!

Press space or click to jump. You can flap a few times while in the air. Good luck!

Fun game. Does not break a lot of new ground, but will put a smile on your face. Likely, you will play a lot longer than you think you will.

A nice little twist on an infinite runner by having to manage your train of ducklings. The art style is simple and nice, but with everything wobbly it can make my brain hurt a bit! The audio is funny, but maybe put a profanity warning at the beginning of the game for anyone who might be streaming!

A solid entry, keep making games!

Definitely addictive. That rock is so unforgiving though hah liked how I could walk on top of signs and stuff, but felt like I should have had a little bit more "flap-power" as the randomly generated terain could come in at weird intervals.

Overall enjoyable game, great graphics and sounds. The random quacks were a great touch.

That was a great game, especially once I discovered that you can jump more while in the air! Great visuals, audio, and humor. I'm also quite impressed that 9 different people helped with the Ducko voices!

I liked the art of the ducks and the tsunami, even if I'm not sure how can a duck outrun a tsunami, haha.
By the way, I almost got a heart attack when my mother duck died, that sound is way too loud.

I couldn't dodge wheels for real, all my ducks died every single time one of those showed up.

It's a enjoyable game overall, thanks a lot for making it!

The art is awesome. The music is quirky and really goes well with the overall tone of the game. It's cute and fun. The only problem was me not knowing you can jump four times. But after 32-nd death, you start pressing everything hundred times, so accidentally figured that out. Nice job guys.

The art and audio are very much in keeping with each other, a kind of rough and raw style so I enjoyed them a lot. I did find the controls, such as multiple clicks to flap higher, a lot harder to use than anticipated and some of the layouts it seemed almost impossible that you would ever pass the obstacles so I felt like I lost through no fault of my own (might also be a complete lack of skill!)

With some polish on the level generation I think it could make a pretty good game.

@kjscott thank you for your feedback! We feel the same way, alas we ran out of time to fine tune it at the end.
