How to Play:

Try to finish the race before time runs out. Each completion of a lap spawns 2 past versions of yourself (one going forward and one going backwards). Don't let your current self touch your past self or it can lead to devastating consequences.

If you finish the race before time runs out then you broke the loop. The countdown timer will now be your completion time.

Controls:

W = Accelerate

S = Reverse

A = Left

D = Right

Space Bar = Brake

Right Shift = Drift

The graphics are AWESOME and looks very professional. The sides driving is a big to sharp but the game is pretty fun I really enjoyed!

Very nicely done! At first I was thinking that's a simple looped racing game and I was OK with that, as it looks and feels great. But then I saw your extra take on theme. Nice one!

I failed to break the loop, but did make it to lap 4! I like the graphics and the ghost car mechanic!

I could never get turning down and on my first lap I flipped on my side and couldn't figure out how to get unflipped.

Nice game!

LOL wow, thanks for making the time limit relatively forgiving. That last lap is anxiety inducing because you get hit so much and have to watch the timer tick down menacingly.

Couldn't screenshot in time but I had 20s left on the clock when I beat it. I think I could do a lot better with some practice, what was your best time?

The game is fun though. I suspect people will probably dislike the controls but I enjoy a challenge. I like experimenting so I tried a lot of different techniques. The best one I could come up with was start holding drift a bit BEFORE turning to induce slide. I would tap shift in certain ways at the "apex" (I use that term loosely with this game lol) to try to not spin out.

I think the most hilarious and giffable thing in this game is going up the hill but then getting annihilated by a car coming from the other direction. Hilarious especially since you can't see it coming.

Great game, what a great twist on the ghost racer idea!

I would have liked to see a lot more brake force for something like a racing game, but tuning car physics can be a chore even without the presence of a time limit.

The physics were quite wonky, but that paid off on the later laps when there were crazy ghosts going around the track :joy: Managed to win with less than half a second on the clock :sunglasses:

I like the idea, but I'm biased since I had pretty much exactly the same idea! The car physics are a bit wonky, but I know it can be hard to get those right; I'm not quite happy with mine either. I like the destructible car; the effect looks really cool! It can be a bit frustrating though since you can very quickly get destroyed even after respawning.

What's up with some of the ghost driving in reverse?

Btw, it seems like it's possible to finish the race after running out of time, which gets you "FINISH" followed by "You failed to break the loop..."

The graphics and the audio were good. Except the car sound made some funny things in my headset that I couldn't explaing (some stuttering ?). The gameplay was ok, the physics were a bit tricky to deal with. The theme implementation was a farfetched but thats ok :D We need this to get some difference between all 1500+ games :D

This was a fun one. I liked the slightly crazy physics, although I could have used a little bit more control on the turns. The whole time I was thinking "this concept would be insane with more cars" though I don't know if it would be a lot of fun or just extremely frustrating. Definitely would be nuts, though.

Nice one!

Very good choice of assets. Kenney assets are always lovely, your car looks awesome, and the music was so good I went and added it to my asset list in Unity (thanks for the discovery).

The game itself is fun, even if the driving was a pure mess to me. I couldn't get the drifting, was always confused as if I should break with space or s, etc...

The explosion in parts with their own physic when you touch a ghost is a very good idea and well executed.

Concept was really cool, very very tough to play though as I never felt I had enough control over the car.

I like your game! It is very funny to play. The only downside I have is the driving physics is a bit weird, but I guess that's not very easy to get right.

Also one time I ended up upside down, there would be a reset after some seconds cool.

I liked the idea a lot, but I'm not a fan of the physics - it didn't need to be perfect, but I wish curves weren't so impossible to make.
