Credits
A game by Phil Strahl a.k.a. Pixel Prophecy made in a frantic 48 hrs. My first "real" Unity game. Did it hurt? Yes. Yes, it did.
Downloads
Linux and Mac builds are mildly tested, but you should be fine. The version was updated shortly after the jam where I fixed music looping, removed unused assets, and corrected one dialog page.

The terrain collision being "analogic" was really cool
Congrats on the really fresh entry!

@rombus Thank you, Rombus! The looping was definitely caused on my end, it's fixed now. The issue was that I rendered the clips with 2 seconds tail from REAPER, oh well! And I am glad you like the music!
@redhermit Thanks for playing and enjoying the few things that I managed to get working! And you'll have a field day with my code; provided you love spaghetti. I will do a code review of it, as always, in which I will try to defend my programming choices. At least now I feel a little more comfortable with Unity!
@frank-gevaerts You calling it "Perfect" is such an overstatement that I am not sure whether I should feel trolled or flattered, so I go with the latter. There's so much to improve (character motivations for one thing), but at least it serves as a vehicle for temp music
3.a really good game for a starter at unity i mean my first game was a box colliding with a box 3.sound really good 4.the references were great i liked the rock reference i liked the game it was good but a tip don't look forward to be number 1 at graphics
for nothing

@polyethyleneglykol From your comment I take it that you're either a masochist or that you enjoyed the game ;) I wanted to do something funny for a change and looks like it worked out. And I both like and feel intimidated by Unity but I think I will stick to it -- in addition to GameMaker
@vrglab Haha thanks for playing and the feedback! I don't expect to rank high in graphics, but if my comedy gets me in the top 500 of humor, I shall be happy! :)
@ladymistleaf Thank you very much! I wanted to add more funny graphics settings but West of Loathing already did "The Good", "The Bad", and "The Ugly", and that's hard to top ;) I wanted to color my sprites ... "when I still have time", so programmer art it was.
@lomma You're welcome (I think)
@preda Thank you, Preda, glad you liked it! 🙇♂️
Well Done, awesome work.
I couldn't find the last (middle?) ending though. I didn't feel up to methodically trying to proof out if certain items were needed for the launch or not.
PS: Is it a joke or just unintentional that it says 1, 2, 3 for dialog choices but there are never more than two? Or did I miss something?
I reallly like it. Great game.
@deathstorm Thanks for playing and streaming and the nice words! :)
@taophoenix Thank you! You get the second ending when just having two things in your bag. But I don't think you missed much ;)
@erkberg Wow, playing all the endings without peeking at the underlying scripts (I assume!) is quite something, thank you for devoting so much time to my short and silly game! And good catch with the choices. I programmed the possibility of having up to three but my clumsy implementation with scriptable objects and hard-coded branching made having just two choices almost too cumbersome ;)
@neowhoru Thank you! That joke was literally thrown in at the last minute!
A few notes:
* Some picked up items display a message (like the GameBoy), but that message disappear after a few seconds. Sometimes, the message disappeared before I could read it entirely. For better consistency, all messages should be discarded
* I don' know if that's intentional but the character was always facing left.
* Graphics could have been better, but that's definitely a style that I enjoyed.
Lastly, a big Thank You for making your videos. Thanks to you, I started participating in Ludum Dare (#40 was the first) and other game jams. I always re-watch your post-mortems before a game jam :) Keep up the very good work!
PS: MacOS version works fine.
This was my first LD and the first finished game I've submitted to a jam. Like many here, I found LD and decided to participate because of your videos. Keep up the good work and I hope you had a great time making the game.

@fredfilo Thank you for playing and your notes! The reason for some text blocks to disappear after a while was that I had to discern between a dialog you're having with an NPC and short descriptions. I I thought I was real clever but in hindsight I agree, it would have been better to be more consistent. And yeah, let's say that the character facing one direction as intentional, not that I forgot to flip the sprite or anything ;)
@psychic-ash Oh really? The ”pomit” was the first stupid joke that I came up with after two seconds of thoughtful introspection and running low on time, I just went with it ;) I dabbled in Unity before but nothing serious, so why not decide to go all in after 18 hours? I had a great time, at least when it was done, but again I hit some low points in between. There will be a post mortem :) Oh, and congratulations on your first LD, and thank you so much for watching! :)

@commanderstitch Haha, thank you very much, there's nothing more I can add ;) I think I did well considering I started with … not a lot.
@incd021 Thanks, INCD021! Apparently my rock-thesaurus was worth it after all ;)
@mika-la-grand Thank you for you multiple play-throughs and the feedback, Mika! The reason behind the game quitting by itself was that I wanted it to be polite and not overstay its welcome ;)
@karanveer Thank you for watching and playing! :)
@tort60091 Thank you, Tort! Glad you liked the silliness of it all ;)
What a wonderful game! You sure unwrapped all the layers of the theme, even the hidden ones. :) Guitar soundtrack works really well with this kind of adventures, you nailed it! Overall, the game looks carefully composed with all the elements fitting each other well. That's the art of polishing! :)
Well done.
@hitchh1k3r Thank you for playing and finding it funny. The second ending is when you just have one or two things in your nothing, by the way :)
@mashupgames I didn't start completely from zero with Unity but it's been well over a year since I tinkered with it. Glad you enjoyed it! he second ending is when you just have one or two things in your nothing, by the way :)
