cute and fun!! It's very simple but it works really well. The timer & other ui elements being inconsistent with the art style is my biggest complaint. I think enemy bullets could stand out against the background a little more too. Well done!

Nice little game. Agreeing with @paul-merkamp, the colour of the enemy bullets needed to be changed but overall its a very good game. The intro audio turned out something like mine!

Love this game, the art, gameplay, audio (amazing music), everything. It looks like the the enemies don't get detroyed when they are not on screen or something.. I just got killed by a bullet that came from nowhere. But it is still amazing! Well Done!

note sure if it is a bug. then you restart you cant move forward before you move to side. by other word space dont do anything before you use the arrow keys.

thanks for playing!!

@paul-merkamp i definitely rushed on my ui and i'm dissapointed in it too. I need to work on improving that next ld.

@paul-merkamp @aryanjumani good call on the enemy bullets, that's something I'll fix slightly

@ck656 oooo good catch, the enemies aren't supposed to shoot while offscreen! I need to fix that.

@life-lich definitely a bug, thanks for letting me know!

I honestly enjoyed this way more than I thought I would! It's a neat little game you got there :D The mechanics are simple enough, but still adds something new to it.

Solid entry!
I really enjoyed this. Such simple gameplay and graphics, but I don't think I've ever come across a mechanic quite like this. Loads of fun to play. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it seemed like the music was getting more complex with each new level. I got to level 4 with 1810.
I'd have like to have seen some more complexity as the levels ramp up, maybe some poweups, etc. Overall, great game.

This is great! I loved the music, and I found it quite zen just avoiding the blocks and the enemies. It wasn't until a block the width of the screen squished me that I realised I could smash them. Great fun

Fun little game! I thought the combined shield direction and movement would feel clunky, but it actually worked pretty well once I got used to it. Great job!

A nice little game! It is simple, but the gameplay loop is satisfying, making you want to restart and play just one more time, everytime. It takes a moment to get used to it, but since the controls are pretty intuitive, it quickly becomes easy to play. At least for the first few levels, before it gets really difficult.

The difficulty ramp up seems to be well done - it's very easy at the start, giving you the opportunity to get used to the control scheme and the main mechanic of the game. At first it seemed to me like the ship keeping its momentum after using the shield move action would lead to a lot of confusion, but it actually both looks and feels natural. I'd probably experiment whether it wouldn't feel better without it, but it's an option I'm not totally against.

The audiovisual side is also great. It might be simple, yet it is clean and everything is easily distinguishable. The clouds slowly passing by were a nice addition. One thing you've already received feedback on is the UI, so I'll won't spend time talking on that.

Have you considered giving the player ship more durability? Something like "you can take two shots, but the third one will kill you". That would give the player a little bit more wiggle room, while it would also keep the option of perfectionist run without loosing any hitpoint. Of course then the game would require some feedback on hits, as right now the game just ends and there isn't really a need for one.

Over all, I liked it. It's a pretty solid compo entry. Good job! ;)

Nice game, enjoyed playing it and the time/score font is really cool and works well with the style. For the limited number of graphics used for the game it works out really well.

I would make the faint red bullets fired by the ships more visible, maybe give them a black border so they stand out more against the blue background.

I actually realy enjoyed the simple graphics for this game, it looked great. Some of the text like for the level were kinda hard to read. But other then that, very solid entry. Good job!
