Really enjoyed this game, would love to see it expanded on. I think the audio and graphics are good and fit well with the darker theme you are going for.

My only suggestion would be making the axe controlled by the mouse, with clicking to use it. That would allow you to have an easier time targeting trees, the fire, and the enemies as right now its locked to 4 directions and is a little clunky to hit the sweet-spot for actions (especially on the fire)

@sirtyler Thanks for the awesome feedback I had a friend recommend that to me earlier today but I didnt have a chance to implement before submitting. I am now realizing the jam still has another 20 hours before it ends so maybe I will fix that and put up a patch tomrrow!

@nikestores The Jam and Compo are two separate timelines, so make sure you know which one you want to be in! The Jam has looser rules, so if you feel you want the extra time go ahead and do it! I think mouse control would make the game really shine, may even want to add some more enemies while you are at it.

Loved the pixelated art and the soundtrack. Really remind me of old school game. If I were to make one suggestion it would be adding some more variety to gameplay, such as different enemy types, since gameply does get a bit repetitive the longer it goes on. I really like the attack animation you there though, pretty cool. Overall, great theme and really great work for first time entry!
