Would have been nice to have some music !
Keep it up!
Jeff is very happy! :green_heart:
I think the title is brilliant and the story behind it even explains completely why we're doing what we're doing. The artwork was cute, readable and fitting for the theme. I feel like the jam theme itself was uniquely interpreted too. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry!
The physics / controls are a bit finicky:
- I get stuck on tiny ramps (that triple jump section early on is a real pain)
- the player drops the egg when turning from left to right
- the sliding pose isn't able to catch the egg (hands extended) for epic catches.
- sometimes the gg seems to fall straight through my arm
The game is a bit addicting, so I kept trying anyways :)
I made it past the first body swap and up the 4-jump, but egg fell in the water
And I suck with such games
The fun part is, that my first play was the best :)
For having no prior history with Godot, this is amazing! Personally couldn't make it through the first colourscheme, but I see from the screenshots you have at least 3 tilesets aka I was far from finishing the game. Big Kudos all around!
Great job!
Unzip the file and EGGXECUTE!"
From 3-4, the egg was hiting the ceiling! It`s not my fault! The ceiling should be a litte higher. I liked how you used some stuff to guide the player were he needs to be or jump, using the grass and tiles, I easily saw that and got a good grip of the physics with it, speeding up my progress, it also rewards the player, well, in this case, me, with "haha, i'm very smart" hahahha.
I HATED not being able to turn around but at the same time I understood it, there was no problem with it, i just got mad everytime i stepped back, and bummed out in cases where my only option was breaking the egg.
What i wish that had was that when u are sliding, the slide would kick the egg a high enough for you to grab it, it would be awesome.
Congratulations on your game!

But sometimes the egg falls from between his hands.. Maybe make him hold it more carefully?
@laura-del-pino Hey! I'm glad you liked it! If you side to the opposite side, you'll drop the egg, it's not a bug, it's a feature. It's done on purpose, but yeah, it needs an explanation! Thanks! :)
@emperor-eagle Thanks for the feedback! We're planning to add improvements in the jump/movement and add more puzzles and difficulties to the game!
@sparsha-dhar @splitpainter I'm glad that you had a good time with it. Thanks guys!!
Well done!
The graphics looked good too, I feel like I'd pull the same expression of Jeff if I was him (points for humour with that). There were a couple of bugs I found, such as being able to slide through the wall on the left of the player but small issues like that are to be expected in a jam! overall a really good game that I enjoyed, well done ! :)
Well done for a first time with Godot!
Good music.
@nachodlv I'll do what you said with the music, nice tip there! Thanks for playing!
@tom-stephenson Thank you for the feedback! And yeah, we're still trying to fix some tiny things! I'm glad you liked the game! :ok_hand:
@goutye Thank you very much for your rating!!
@adrian-guevara The controls are done that way on purpose, that's the point of the game! Thanks for the feeback!
All that said, I think that the game was fun, and often hard in a fun way. Sorry for being really negative, I did actually like the game, and my rating will not be as harsh as this comment makes it out to be! I just read on Reddit that you are continuing development (if I remember correctly) so I want to give some constructive (and kind of harsh) feedback.
I really agree with you that the art and animations are janky and inconsistent, but there's a reason.
I don't want to make an excuse here, but during this jam, I was teaching my partner (who had no idea of game dev, nor the concepts behind it) and he managed to use Godot and make animations with IKs. Besides that, I was also learning how to use Godot in the meantime, so we didn't really have time to make the art consistent or make the gameplay as polished as I would do it with UE4 or Unity. It was a challenge for us. I'm a pure coder and he's a graphic designer who never used a game engine or made animation so we're still working on improving the inconsistencies of the art/animations and I'm also trying to improve the physics of the character and the stuff that annoys people like turning and dropping the egg.
One more time, thanks for the harsh feedback and don't apologize for it, it's gonna help us a lot!
@mika-la-grand Hello! The web build issue that you tell me it's not happening to me, I actually tried it in 2 of my PCs in different web browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Opera) and with a 20mb internet connection it had a 12 sec of loading time in average for the first time. Going faster once loaded. So I can't agree with that :grimacing:
In regards to the controls and the egg fall when turning, we're working on it, it was a feature at first, but it's extremely difficult for people, so we're gonna change it. The audio issue as well is under watch. Thanks for the patchnotes idea! We'll add it to our Trello and Itch.io page! Thanks for the overall feedback!

sometimes it falls if you turn left ,good job!

Interesting gameplay and mechanics, felt pretty smooth. Egg grab could be a little more forgiving by sticking to hands a little bit more.
Overall it was engaging and quite fun, while music kept it from becoming frustrating too fast.
I got stuck on terrain a bit too easily, though. And I think adding some more reliable ways to increase your speed (so you can catch up to a runaway egg) would help get rid of some frustration.
I had fun with this one :)
The original version of the game can be played in the [Itch.io page](https://dexgamedev.itch.io/drop-the-egg-jeff), there are 2 versions, the updated one and the vanilla version.
I hope everything goes well, I forgot about these things! :grimacing:
