Robot Repair Shop Incorporated by been

made by been for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

We, welcome our robot overlords to come and stay... With us, the robot repair shops, ensuring you wake up next day... Where we spit and shine your chassis so fine, And make your oil problems go away! Come to us with your mechanical owies (but make sure that you can pay!) YAY!

Disclaimer: we don’t serve robots without insurance, nor do we do freebies. We’re very expensive and if you try to run we have extensive files on where your power cores are located! :)

You need to open up your robot patients and replace their corroded power cells. Use the mouse to select your tools and get to work, but watch out for oil leaks! You will need to watch out for them gushing out, and hold down the letter that pops up to keep those precious fluids inside. But careful you don't slip and hit the wrong key, and jab your poor robotic patient somewhere healthy. And don't forget to put them back together again! No reputable doctor would leave their patient lying open on the operating table.

Note: We discovered a small bug where the level introduction text and the ending screen count don't appear where they should be when you're playing the game full-screen. It doesn't feel quite right to update the game now, nearly a week after submitting it so we're leaving it as is. If you do notice the problem, just exist full-screen mode on Itch.io and it should display fine.

Cool concept. I don't really like how you did it. It could be a real game if you would polish it a bit

I loved this! The idea to restrict dexterity with the alphabet keys was really great. Also fantastic job on the audio.

Nice Intro song!! :D "All your Problems go away. Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm" It felt like a real operation because the different keys on the keyboard have to be pressed. And a "biep" and "boop" in between were very funny. Thank you for your entry! :robot:

I loved the song in the main menu! The game play itself was a bit too stressful to me, took me a while to get the first level done haha. But the words of the robot kept me going. Really nice work!

O my! This is an awesome concept and the implementation is nearly perfect!! Little bit of an issue click the right spots but I guess surgery is quite hard..

LOVED LISTENING TO THE ROBOT and the humming!

Very funny! The humming and voices are really amusing and the game is pretty polished. I would enjoy more sound effects associated with the various components and popups, and a greater variety of tasks to perform if you plan on expanding the game!

I think this is (edit: one of) my favorite so far. I'll just list down why this game is good:
* Audio is genius - Music is catchy and very much follows the direction of the game, the little audio bits are humorous. It's just so silly but well done. Also the sfx.
* Gameplay is fun - I thought the game would be too easy but then you try plugging in leaks every two seconds and see how that goes! Finger acrobatics.
* Theme was well worked and unique - A lot of the games in LD46 either tip into the serious side of things or go too far in their nonchalance and pounds the pressure on you. This game is very relaxing but the time still ticks, making you feel like an actual jolly robot repair mechanic.

The art can do with a little work but it is quite okay. I would love to be a robot overlord.

This game really left me with a huge smile. I love the effort you put into the voiceovers and humming which really set the mood of the game. It was sprinkled with charm and humor all around thank you for sharing it.

If i may request an addition if ever, could you maybe add more layouts for the robots?

It's like playing twister with your fingers. Good idea and Solid execution. Great audio!

I rather like this. Having to focus on completing a task whilst being distracted with the keys was an interesting challenge and the slight increase in difficulty over the levels was nice.

Initially I wanted a sound for when a new leak was found, but I think that would take away some off the difficulty. I can see comparisons to 'Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes' - there could be different distractions and more tasks to complete in future levels.

I think the Repair shops return policy is disgraceful and anti-consumer, though.
