This was the first game that I played at 7 am after pulling an all nighter working on my own game with little sleep from the night before. This game definitely woke me up from my groggy daze. It was fun to play and super hectic at times. I would suggest maybe having a penalty for hitting incorrect keys since I was able to just mash on my keyboard and be mostly fine. The little dino characters are great. I had fun playing and that is one of the most important factors in a Jam game.

I played the game when my buddy, who commented above, posted it in our chat. Impressive first entry :) I noticed that some of the meteors were off the screen, so that might be something worth polishing.

This is a really cool game. I played until i had to just mash buttons to stay alive and then kept playing until my laptop couldn't handle the amount of meteors falling down.

Thanks for playing! @ruddgasm @alphabetasoup I have planned these adjustments but I didn't have enough time to do XP, I will fix it later.

It'so simple but it's so fun! I think adding a combo system would make it even more fun. I love the graphics. I agree with @ruddgasm that there should be a penalty to prevent button mashing.

great graphics for a jam, little light on actual game-play mechanics

nice game - a bit of background music could help :)

It is a nice take on a typing game. The dinosaurs make the whole thing work, they are tiny and nice; the graphics are really good. It did not take me long to get to the feel of the game, it is kind of nostalgic to me.
There's no penalty for making mistakes and also sounds are a little too loud. And there's no goal, onloy trying to get as many asteroids as you can. Aside from these things, this is a great typing game!

nice game, i enjoyed, slightly too easy from my perspepctive. i had similar idea on ludum dare couple of years ago, my game was about typing full words, not just letters...anyway - good job

Very nice graphics. Good attempt. Even mine is the first attempt in the jam. Your game should have more ratings. keep it up.

Solid entry. I like the dinos, is it a pack? I noticed you opted out of the graphics category.

Got to 48800, then it got really hard XD

The sound could be a little bit better, they were somewhat repetitive and cut off here and there. But my biggest issue is that I couldn't look at the cute dinos because of all the meteors :frowning2:

@echo-team Yes, it is a asset on the unity asset store. I have brought it few years ago. And I forget what its name, just extracted from my early project. I reached around 40000 scores too xp, can't reach any further without cheating.

I enjoyed your game. The learning curve is very smooth at first but it goes crazy after 40000 points. I have got 45000 scores just hitting the keys randomly like a baby. Too bad you opted out the graphics category. really nice graphics your game has.

44800 points! nice idea and cute dinos. It reminds me one game for PC "Ninja Cat and Zombie Dinosaurs" (also about dinosaurs and typing). What I would change is the colors of letters - they are sometimes hard to read (maybe using Textmesh Pro with some outline?). And also the sounds of dinosaurs don't match up the cartoon style - look at the Yoshi character from Nintendo games - he does cute voices :) And the difficulty don't seem to ramp at the begining and at some point it just goes very high :). Overall - nice!

sounds are really high, you should balance them. Good attempt for first jam though, good implementation to classic mechanics. You my want to use a bit steeper difficulty curve though, it is a bit easy and gets boring too easily. And maybe you can keep meteors a bit far away from camera too.

@despdair At first it's harder because it's tested by me. Then, when my wife try it, she feel very difficult. So, I lower the difficulty. It's hard to satisfy everyone needs, maybe I need to let the player choose the suitable difficulty XD.

@lungtakumi I don't know how others feel but frequent pc gamer and programmers have fast ability to use keyboards so I probably felt that way because of that. Like, you may had set up game too hard and lowered it to too easy but as you said it is hard to satisfy every player :(

Fantastic idea really well done! I scored 19.600 points and my satisfaction was and is still very high! One idea..maybe if two meteorites with the same letter appear the player should click twice on the same button! Overall really well done!

Simple little fun game, this would be a great typing game for young kids who are starting to learn!

Hard game when you don't know your keys! I mean, I can type without looking, but it's strangely hard to pinpoint just one letter! :joy:
Nice idea, cool execution. My only complaint would be that the cries are a bit too loud and numerous, but otherwise that's a nice game, keep it up!

Nice game ! Simple idea but the feedback makes you want to continue until the end (my keyboard took a lot of damage in the end x)
Good job !

This reminds me that I need to practice my typing skills! A bit embarrassing coming from someone calling himself a programmer. :smirk:

I can definitely imagine this as a full release, with polished up and expanded gameplay, and graphics (particularly the letters), and some simple story mode. Would have been even better with more appropriate, cuter sounds to match the visual style!

Don't think I found any bugs, except MAYBE an "O" keypress failed to register, though it MIGHT have been a "D". :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I love how our games have similar themes but we approached it from completely different gameplay angles. Solid mechanic, but a bit simple. Would love to see more disasters emerge and eventually whole words that you'll need to type out.
