HARAKI RUN font (1).png

Japan, 17th century

Yamamoto Tsunemoto, an old samurai who retired to become a Buddhist monk, tells the principles of bushidō to his pupil Tsuramoto Tashiro.

One day, Tashiro's writings will be known to the world under the name of Hagakure. However, the story does not tell of the lazy fat ass known as Koshu Hikosen, Tashiro's secret pupil.

Considered the worst samurai of all time, one night Koshu got incredibly drunk and high and stole Tsunemoto's notes.

Completely misunderstanding the meaning of bushidō, Koshu embarked on a mad rush to find any way to die without the commitment of having to fight and the heavy burden of Harakiri.

CONTROLS

Basically the game is an endless run of a samurai trying to Harakiri himself.

We control which action the character will perform based on which card we’ll use.

Every card has limited uses and we can pickup them along the path.

Our main goal is to avoid any obstacle to prolong his life as much as possible.

When the game will be over our samurai will share with us some of his ancient wisdom.

Q to walk

W to run

E to jump

Nice Art but some times can go near 500 score without ever encounter an obstacle on the ground and some time hopefully it's much quicker. So it would be nice to have a "better" generation with a smooth difficulty curve.

Dude, the art style is great! but, the game is very fast, no doubt there are games with enough speed on the market, but I felt a little loss, because the palette of cores is very similar, lacking a little contrast between the obstacles and the items that benefit me, I believe that a instead sounding warning or reproducing beneficiary items and obstacles can make it much more instructive for novice players who have a perception of what is playing around the game, as I must admit that I was insistent on reproducing and understanding, but I felt very lost in the performance of the race , the soundtrack caught the background and the artistic essence of the game very well, however, the only thing that would make the game much better would be the help to guide me during such agility.
I hope my analysis is useful, together I ask you to play my game and leave your opinion please :D

Make it so the the masks cannot spawn directly over the ground hazards. Graphics are nice.

Well polished, nice art and music. The concept of the game is a bit basic, but it's still fun. I am not sure if I am missing something but once I died because the flying demon head spawned right above a dragon, making it impossible to dodge.

Really liked the art production, just didn't really get the type of controls used here, and when your run it became difficult to read the game and stay alert from danger.

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks, we're trying to fix the bug with both oni and dragon also working on making it more stable in spawning obstacles. I'd like to know what your scores are

As others have noted, the game moves a bit too fast to play with any real skill. That being said, you hit it out of the park with the mood and graphics! This art-style belongs in a full release, not a game jam project!

Add like a tutorial part to the entire game. Also you should make the head thingies and fire pop out more from the background so it's easier to see.

The art is amazingly well done, really consistent and creative. The implementation of the theme is fine too. The gameplay is a little harder to like for me since I had a hard time even seeing the obstacles approach me while I was running. This could probably be fixed with a bit of balancing though. Overall, well done!
