RevolveWare by Fatsheep

[raw]
made by Fatsheep for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

RevolveWare is a quickly accelerating minigame compilation inspired by games such as WarioWare!

wip5.PNG All the minigames feature round, spinning, turning or, loopy things. And they keep coming forever until you lose your three lives. There are four minigames with three difficulties that it cycles through, and one boss minigame that appears every 15 minigame. The game speeds up every five minigames and turns into quite a challenge after a while.

I regret that I didn't have enough time to implement more minigames, but I feel like there is enough variety in there to last for a while if you're trying for a high score.

Feel free to post your highest score in the comments!

My highest score is 116, try to beat that!

Great game! I agree that it could always use more minigames, but the speed-ups seemed to make up for it. Very polished, and I like the overall style.

I love the style of this game! The animation between the mini-games is brilliant. Also, the games themselves are fun and perfectly on-theme. My favourite is the spinny-rocket one (the sound effects makes it, lol)

Absolutely fantastic. The only mini game I wasn't a huge fan of was the stick and wheel game because it felt a little slow compared to the other ones. Contrats on managing to actually come up with a whole series of games that fit the theme of stuck in a loop. You audio is fantastic as are your graphics. Also love the desert bus levels.

Awesome game! I loved how I could speed run the mini games, except for the one with the wheel... I loved the car sound effect ahahah. I managed to get to 71. Good job!

HAHA Nice game, I got 40 before I got nuked by a meteor. loved the sound effect and the graphics hit home with me since I'm and old man by internet standards.
The only feedback I have is stuff I'm sure you already know, mainly more games. it would also have been nice to have wasd support.

the adaptive sound/music was a really nice touch you don't see many people implement in a jam game so that really help give it that extra bit of polish. overall fantastic submission, good job!

That was a really fun warioware inspired game. I loved the sounds and animations. I really liked your take on the theme. I do wish that the difficulty had scaled faster. Also, I discovered at around 60 points that there was no penalty for touching the wrong key; I realized I could simply spam all the keys quickly and last forever. Overall this was one of the best games I've played so far. Well done!

✔️ The game has a very unique and interesting graphical style, nice mix between realistic and pixel art.

✔️ The sound design is also very well done with the multiple sound effects changing based off your score.

➖ I feel the game could have sped up a bit faster.

This is fantastic. Snappy, fun, funny. I'm legitimately super curious how the Fallout/DKC style pixelated 3D graphics were done. The only thing I would say otherwise is that "roll the hoop" is a little unclear.

If one game isn't enough, why not make 15? By far the most unique game I've played in this jam, and the low-res 3D aesthetic is nostalgic as hell! The sound effects also give the whole thing a really humorous vibe. I can't think of too much wrong with it (which speaks to the game's quality), but I supposed if anything I feel like obstacles in the barrel roll minigame could be telegraphed a bit better.

I really like the graphics/aesthetic. The SFX are awesome too. Gets hype the faster it goes. Could use more minigames but at least it's really well polished for a jam game.
Favorite minigame: valve (boss is pretty cool too though)
Least favorite: push the rotating tube thing with the brick wall background, this is just mashing and you'll always win and there's no risk or anything so I don't see the point
Hardest minigame: spaceship, damn it's hard
Highscore: 47

Just amazing in all aspects! Sound and visuals fit perfectly. Transitions and feedbacks are awesome. My final score for my first run was 61. It's a little late so I'll try another run tomorrow. Thanks a lot again for having played our game. You are still second world record at : 6:34s ! Have a good one :)

The game looks so good and the minigames are so simple yet so fun.
I just wish the difficulty increased more as you progress, I did 25 games and I didn't really feel the games were getting any harder.
Great job overall!

Awesome game! Lots of fun, fits the theme, and has a sweet pixely 2d/3d look. Would love to see more!

Brilliant little game! I love the aesthetic and it's surprisingly challenging, but in a way that kept me engaged for quite a while. Can't really say much more than that, awesome work!

Very cool! You managed to capture that Wario-Ware feel pretty well. Some of the minigames felt fun enough to be even longer (particularly the Star Wars one). Good job!

Fun game. Loved the car sounds hahaahah. Also cool graphics.
Loved the idea of "mini-games" on a game, and using the loop thing as a loop of those mini-games.

Found this game through your Twitch stream. Great job on the compo. I was getting pretty good on the water valve turning and the spaceship. Knowing it's a compo project really nothing to add that I could see. Keep up the good work.

Between that chunky and charmingly hideous 90s CGI, the careful use of programmer noises, and MIDI music, everything about the presentation is 200% solid. That, and being a WarioWare clone, it really nails the spirit of the original though I wish there were a few minigames that went further into the absurd. If you were to extend this, could you perhaps add mouse input to certain microgames?

If I had any criticism, I think the hoop minigame isn't particularly engaging, and may be better if there was a longer recovery between swings. This would force you to time it instead of mindlessly mashing a button. I also think there needs to be a little more feedback when the hoop is in range.

The music is a little boring and slow when the game is just starting, though this isn't a problem once the tempo picks up with the speed.

Just to show you how desperate I am to find **something** to criticize here, the "Speed Up!" sign also has a few artifacts to the right of where it shows up. The glow cuts off just a bit if you pay attention to the sign.

Okay, one more criticism. I would have liked another little song during each microgame, much like WarioWare. Bonus points if you get a kazoo cover of a legally distinct Battle of Yavin for the starfighter!

I'm really just nitpicking at the end of the day, this was nearly 5 stars across the board. Well done!

This was pretty fun! Turning valve, flipping spaceship can be easly beaten by spamming all the arrow keys. Sounds were okay. My first try is 182 so if you manage to break my brand new RevolveWare WR tag me here with your ss i'll beat ya. (with better score i mean)

There's something about this game that's incredibly charming. It might be the cute artstyle, the joke sound effects or the silly minigames, but the game's just funny. I had a smile on my face for the whole playthrough (Got to 44). Everything in the game comes together to make a fun experience that feels like it's from a different decade.
Great stuff
