Brain Training 101 by DigitalLimestone

[raw]
made by DigitalLimestone for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

You play as a brain, learning to control a human. The game is roughly 10 minutes long, and everything is explained. Sound is recommended. regimg.PNG

I really enjoyed this jam, so thanks to everyone who competed.

And I know, the game's a bit weird but it's abstract I guess?

Thanks for playing! Feedback is appreciated.

This Game is very stressful I like how the other functions like sneezing are so slow you forget about them and then they suddenly creep up on you later on. Very Fun.

The game is really fun, but it would be great if the Keys to press would be in a more comfortable position(next to each other on the keyboard)

Lovely game! It's hard to read while focusing on all the progress bars.. I think part of the problem for me is the us of "random" letters as keys.. I would prefer using maybe arrow keys to select and then space to press.. Maybe it's just me, but the less thinking I need to do the better.. :D

This is far and away my favorite game I've played thus far. It surprised me with how much of a blast it was. I couldn't beat it, but I very much enjoyed the whole experience of trying.

Very nice graphics and mood. Fun gameplay. The game gives you a very pleasant and calm introduction to the game, and then it gets really stressfull :) I think my own heart started beating faster too. Good job!

Thanks so much for commenting everyone!

It's really great to read your kind words. I put the keys in weird places to make it more difficult but I think I maybe understimated how difficult it was to play.

Thank you!

Lovely game! Really creative and fits the theme perfectly. Great little tutorial in the beginning, I have to say. The game was super challenging though, i'd say you should make the game much easier initially but increase the difficulty slowly while you play.

I really like the fast-moving (blood?) in the background, really added to the intensity of it. I would have liked it better if the controls were grouped around one had though. I played it with both hands on the keyboard and just moved my hand to itch and such, but moving the hand usually takes a noticeable bit of time given how fast paced this game is.

This game is amazing. You never realize how much of a power horse your brain is until you have to mash a bazillion buttons in parallel, all with different demands. This game hast just nailed it. Thanks so much for this experience <3

@digitallimestone I thought the key placement was good. Made it more confusing and I think that's a good thing

Nice game... Now, I know that I don't want to be my own brain..

It is hard to play again and reading the instruction. Can you pause the game when the pop up tutorial showed? Because I can't read while pressing button, ha ha.. Or maybe it is part of the game? Hmm..

Good job! =)

Buddy this game almost made ME forget how to breathe.

I live stress management games, and the way you introduced all the elements progressively really helped. When I saw the wee and poo bars I was like "really"?

As for feedback, I'd like the keys to be rebound / more comfortably bound. Maybe it was your idea so as to keep the hand moving?

Anyway, for a lefty it'd be much comfortable if they could be on the right side of the keyboard :)

Overall the game was great, fun and definitely ends up being quite a hectic game. Against the "chill" music it makes it funny.

The key layout could have been improved to make it easier to perform all the actions but I'm suspecting that this is intentional to make everything far more stressful and complex that it needs to be, which works well with the greatly increasing intensity so I wouldn't mark it down for that.

It was so hard to try and keep up with the messages and understand when and how to fulfill all the different needs, it definitely takes a few goes in order to get more competent at the game.

The most elaborate "you are now breathing manually" joke in existence.

A lot of polish in this one! This is essentially a finished web game. I like the balance between the different kinds of actions that you have to take, though it did get a bit repetitive. I didn't manage to beat it but I enjoyed the vibe during my playthrough!

The idea is fun, and both the music and graphics is really good. The controls is a bit too confusing, and it is a bit difficult to follow the story when you constantly try to find the right button to press. Overall is this good jam game. Well done.

The game is fun even though I'm having trouble keeping up with the actions needed to be performed. I enjoyed it and I like how it is very clean and polished!

Well, it made appreciate the human brain once again.

It's not a fun game, but a good experience  Thanks!

(One thing I missed is the fullscreen option.)

Had a lot of fun playing this! Really like your take on the theme and the game is super challenging in a good way, we even co-oped at one point and still didn't get to 3 minutes  Art and sounds are great and add to the humour. Nice job!

Really cool. It is really polished. Especially the audio is what I liked! Only thing is that I couldn't skip the tutorial. I wanted to play again immediately because it is a good game!

Interesting concept, but there is too much going on. The controls are also all over the place, which doesn't make it any easier. I would do something like A, S, D and J, K, L.

Wow, loved it! great concept! It was well balanced. The only thing I didn't like was your choice of buttons. I would have preferred them to be more outspred on the keyboard. But the game itself is brilliant! The audio was great too. Loved the heart beat sound :)
