Primed!

This is an action packed hardcore shooter with a highly polished look and playability. I spent a lot of time getting the game feel up to par with the best and making the shooting feel so good and satisfying. The hours were long and packed with stress, but I'm glad to say that I think I pulled it off in the end. Guaranteed to get your heart pumping. Even managed to put two endings in it!

Have fun!

It's very short, but the polish, amazing graphics and tight controls, as well as some funny jokes make the game great.

Plenty short enough to get both playthroughs in, nice job with the twist on the first ending. :P

I can definitely see what you mean by the polish on this game! Stylewise and graphically it looks great, and the beats are rocking too. Nice scope and execution for LD!

EDIT: Ohhhhhhhhh my god. I just realized how the theme comes into play here. That's devlish!

The polish is on the another level - screen shake, bullet knock back, particle on collision, parallax background and a hip sound track. The double twist is one of my favorite moment of this jam

I read the description, and was really curious what I was getting myself into. Well played 🤣
Nice secret ending too - to find it, you need to remember the theme of the jam.

Yea that was a bad joke, but your game is very funny! 5 stars in humor

Such a great game! We need more levels please!

I absolutely love the twist on the theme. Well played, really well played.

Here's a thing though: We Germans don't use QWERTY, we have QWERTZ, and I don't even know how a Frenchman would play this game without breaking all of his fingers at once.

Visually very well done. The controls and UI/Start screen feels super polished. The enemies feel more like target practice since they don't really move. It feels like a tutorial more than a game. Great work! Keep it up!

I liked the gun recoil, music and endings.
I wondered what did I did wrong? I just had to remember the LD theme.

I wonder if there's any message to this one  very funny. Sad that it's short though, I'd have loved to actually play it!

Nice overall package. I liked the twist in the message :) Got both endings!

The feel of the game is pretty solid! The knockback from the shooting the gun felt a bit too much however. Not a lot of shooting was involved so I guess it's okay?

I love that this is a pacifist shooter, I had to walk back on my initial behavior once I got the gun. The music is catchy and the graphics are well done. Great use of the theme overall and I liked the newspaper too. --Anna

I liked it!!
I knew there was something fishy so I try to replay it and find somethnign else... And DAMN you did it!
I laughed, so great job!
The knockback with fire is kinda tricky at first but hey, all guns have it :D

Great job!!

Just the sound effect at the end was a tiny bit too destructive for my ears xD

Fun game, really enjoyed playing it. I only wish I could set the controls, cuz it's unplayable on my 60% keyboard. 10/10 worth busting out my old keyboard.

Nice one. And short. I like your take on the theme of the jam, so it's better to aim for Mars. The newspapers are great!

Nice short game! I wished it was a bit longer seeing how everything overall is so nice! It could definitely keep it's charm and style with more short endings like you currently have.

The sound effect of killing the dobo did hurt my ears a bit.

Ha ha! I loved it. The animations are really slick and I love the recoil effect. Graphics are beautiful. Music is good. And killing the last dobo, what a laugh! The best game I've played in this compo so far.

Nice game! Short and sweet. I really like the art style and it left me wishing there were a few more levels to play around in. The twist is good. It provides a nice ah-ha moment and really makes you feel like the game maker is one step ahead.

Very cool game. Simple but cute art. There are a few thing you need to fix:

The controllers are very weird.

The game is too short.

haha very short but enjoyable, I think you should reduce the gravity when player is shooting

The movements of the camera are great, the style is cool, and the feel is impressive (a bit too much of recoil when shooting), unfortunately there is almost no gameplay, the game just serves as a joke (a good one). You have the power to create a very good game and this jam game proves that, keep with the good work!

Very well polished controls. The art style actually went together really well and seemed to have a cohesive visual style even if very simple -- though I felt like it could've been a little brighter / higher contrast overall (not sure if just my monitor but it was sometimes hard to make out the platforms against the background). I really enjoyed the humor at the end and had fun with the game overall even if it was very short. Nicely done :)

The graphics, sounds, and controls are all very good. It's amazing you got this much done in a compo. It's a shame there wasn't much content, because using the controls just felt good. I'd encourage you to expand on this. There's a fun game in there.

You did a great job!

Good experiment. But that amazing **polished-ness** is the thing which makes people to expect more content. I think, less polished game of the same size would be less frustrating for players and your purposes would be more clear. On the other hand, you can take it as another part of experiment - unexpected but useful.

Very well polished controls. Loved the art style as well. Only if I could play this game for a good few minutes.

- "There should be more guns." , says the local gun ownership advocate group.
- "What a great game idea, I call dibs on Drunken shooter game with longer gameplay. Collector edition could come with gun skins!", says games industry spokesman Jared Darklingson, CEO of GAmblingForChildrenIsOK Inc.
- "What is a game?", says a wise leader of a country.

- "WE WANT MORE GAMEPLAY", says everyone who played the game.

Heheh at first I was like: wtf, is that it? And then when I read the first ending, I played again and got the other ending and felt in love with it. Nice music, nice visual particles. If it were longer it would be even better, but for what it is, it's good!

* "So funny I died laughing" - the Dobo
* "Hard to put down" - the Tree
* "I had my shades on and everything was just so cool." - the Man
* "Absolutely the best game ever made" - wise leader of a country

Seriously, make a full game out of this. It was pretty good fun while it lasted. :)

Absolutely love it, from the description to the "tutorial" screen to the almost involuntary decision-making to its ending.

Apart from being really funny and on point: This is my favourite interpretation of the theme so far, and the only game that I gave 5/5 in that category, because it's not something stereotypical of the genre like in so many other games here. It's not about keeping the player, or a companion, or a fire, or anything else alive like in literally all other games of that genre. Well done.

I usually like to give helpful feedback. I can't. This is perfect already.
