Description

Keep 'Felix the Snowman' from melting in this 'Triple Triad' inspired card game.

Gameplay

How To Win

Have more Cold Cards connected to 'Felix the Snowman' than Hot Cards. A card is connected to him if it is either in one of the slots next to him, or connected to a line of cards of the same type (Hot / Cold) where at least one is adjacent to him.

How To Play

  1. At the start of the game you draw 4 random Cold Cards.
  2. Drag and drop your Cold Cards around the snowman.
  3. Card types can be flipped if an opposite card type is placed beside them and has a higher number in their direction.
  4. Continue placing cards until the board is full.
  5. The side with the most connected cards wins.

Soooo its just basically triple triad? But its a good one at that, technically speaking. Snappy gameplay, nice presentation.

Nice little strategy game. Only thing I found was that the AI didn't seem to make the appropriate moves to offer a challenge. Thanks for the game.

Interesting take on the Keep It Alive theme. One of the more creative ones I've seen. The gameplay could use some variety in the card sets.

Solid entry, works well. The AI was not really challenging though. Would be great if you could do local multiplayer.

This game feels very polished and clean, great job! The AI is a little too easy. I would love to see local multiplayer in a post jam version :)

Funky little game, decent mechanics, would love to maybe see a bigger board if you beat the first level.

Fun short game. The art is clean and the reactivity snappy
Though I feel like to reinforce the them it would have been nice to have a "melting" animation on your snowman.
Also... is there an actual AI or is it random (it feels like, making the game really easy)
To expand this game it would be interesting to have bigger board with chokepoints and maybe a chain effect of conversions.
Good job !

Creative concept, it was pretty fun to play. The scene slide is a lovely effect! :) It would be nice if the AI was a little more challenging with its placement, it does feel quite random (correct me if I'm wrong) at the moment.

triple triad is a great game and that mechanic needs to be revived in some way

Pretty fun game! The AI is a bit dumb though but all the game's swipey transitions are nice

The gameplay idea is pretty good, but it would have been more fun as two player game.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone!
Yep, you're all right on the money. The AI currently just chooses randomly, I ran out of time before going back to improve it.

I really enjoyed making this one, but it does lack a bit of a challenge so I plan to update it after the Jam.

Based on the feedback, I'm looking at:
- A few different improved AIs
- Another level with a 5x5 board (This is ready to go)
- More card variety (at least in their numbers)
- A melted animation for the lose condition / losing feedback
- Highlighting the cards that are attached to the snowman
- Local multiplayer (this is my stretch goal, but I've got it structured so a Hot Seat version shouldn't be difficult)

It's Triple triad with no different creatures and a cell already taken by the snowman ? Well, not really fit into the theme... but ... but ..
The transition between turn, the sfx for the passing of turns and the snapping of the card is really good! And this is cool for a gamedev to know how to do it.

Well done on making a FFXIV style card game, love that game (but usually lose, lol). The sounds are great and the animation is very snappy. The pixel art is good, and the AI is pretty good too. I think the game could maybe use a bit of BG music to help the mood of the game a bit. And maybe in the future a PvP or Player v AI option would be cool in the menu screen to let the player choose a single or multiplayer game. Also a maybe a thermometer some where on screen to let you know how cold/hot it is depending on the cards on the board, as a visual aid or just a visual gimmick to add something for the player to get feedback from.
Over all a very nice Jam game, Good Job!

either I'm very good or the game isn't that challenging haha, but the good thing was that I was having fun playing the game. I played like 5 games in a row and won them all. Funny enough in the beginning I didn't even realize how the numbers worked, then I realized they are for the positions up, down, left, and right. once I started to understand that, it was more fun b/c at least I knew what I was doing. I think the first game might of been pure luck.

It would be cool if you convert every single card to ice that something special happens. If something did happen, it wasn't impactful enough b/c I didn't notice it.
