The Acolyte by Tattomoosa
Serve your purpose. Betray your brothers.
A very short game about destiny.
Web build best served in Chrome/Chromium. Windows build is untested, please let me know if you try it and it works or doesn't!

Made With Godot, Ardour, Aseprite, VSCode
WASD or arrow keys to move, Space to perform actions.
Gamepads might also work, with PlayStation X/Xbox A/Nintendo B performing the action.
This game has received a small update post-jam with the following changes from the original: * Arrow key and gamepad support * Fixed a soft-lock bug if you tried to grab an enemy during an offering (but left in the funny bug that resulted, check it out) * Adjusted hitboxes to hopefully make the game a little less frustrating.
I believe these small updates to be well within the rules for post-submission updates, but if you disagree the original submission can be downloaded as a .zip file from the same itch.io page and run with a local web server.

TL;DR : You made a good game with great audio
I reached 8 HP and died there. I will visit again to finish the game later
There could have been improvements of course. but most of what I encountered is already written by others in the comments above.
You have done well with this and you should be proud of what was accomplished in 48 hours. Keep up the good work and i look forward to seeing what you make next!
The art is fantastic, the music and overall mood of the game is really really nice. I love how weak you are when you first begin but quickly gain HP.
Amazing.
My intention re: the theme was that you have to keep the enemies alive until you can feed them to the hole, as well as the thematic idea that the evil was being kept alive by you feeding it. YMMV whether that was successful or not, but that was how I thought about it.
