Dungeon Petscort by jwiggs
Defend a cute pet going out for a walk in the middle of a perilous dungeon. Don't worry, nothing can hurt you, but your cute friend on the other hand isn't as durable. Defend it as long as you can before getting overwhelmed!

PROS
Fun Idea
Impressive Sprites

AI Breaks commonly
Weapon Balancing is a bit off (I went from pistols to a flamethrower within the first couple of minutes)

Level Design is a bit confusing at times
Overall enjoyable game, 3/5
@manimal I found a cool shader that I wanted to use for a while and after trying it, it just makes things pop!
Thanks for the feedback!

As for colliders, I think I could have spent a little bit of time creating 2 hitboxes for enemies to use, one for navigation and wall collision checks and then another one for damage. I totally get the whole "make enemies hitbox bigger" but its my first time really playing with the 2.5D perspective.
As for the pixel art, I was going for a less detailed, cleaner flatter look since it would just be faster. Yep smaller is better when it comes to these things, and I have a lot to learn about pixel art! Your comment made me really happy because I worked really hard on the art
Thanks for your constructive feedback!
Great little game, art was well done. Great mechanics in the game.
Some background music would have been nice as it felt a little bit flat without it, and I think the difficulty ramped just a little too quickly. Other than that, great entry and good luck with your results
The other weapons I found seemed worst than the starting one because they were slower. Judging from the above gif, it seems like you did add more variety for the weapons in the 72 hour version.
It would have been nice to have a little bit of control over the pets, but I guess them having a mind of their own is kind of the point. At first I thought there was supposed to be somewhere I was taking them to, but then they circled back to where they started. Maybe it'd be cool if there were objectives other than just standing next to the pet while they wander around.
