Ludum Dare 34 submission themes: 2 Button Controller and Growth

You are but a mere sapling with dreams touching the sky. Gather water and sunlight in order to photosynthesize glucose and grow. You need glucose to survive, so don't let it drop to none or you'll wither and die. Be aware that time of day and season affect water/sunlight collection rates as well as growth rates. Growth is stunted during Winter but booms in Spring.

Controls

D - collect water/sunlight; Hold to swap

K - photosynthesize glucose/expend glucose to grow; Hold to swap

Esc - pause

Other Note: I see that the Unity player is being removed, does anyone know how to make the new webGL build option work for itch.io?

Very interesting use of the 2 buttons, with the swapping of functions by holding them down.
It is a bit too random to be "good" at this game, and it gets a bit repetitive. Good use of the themes!

Oh and please use a WebGL build next time, so Chrome users can play it in their default browser.

A bit hard to see the text up there. The switch is not visible (well?), it's hard to tell what is active. Interesting idea though, just needs a bit of work.

As for WebGL on itch.io -- just zip whatever unity spits out (all the files) and upload it (and mark it as embedded). It worked for me just fine, no changes necessary.

I did not realize all I had to do was pack it in a zip file. Thanks for letting me know that. I uploaded that and so now it should hopefully work with opengl instead of the unity player :D

It seems like an interesting concept. It does need a bit of work, but I can see it's potential.
