Mega Kinetic by Add-an-A

When an alien life form needs to bounce to survive, science abides.
Play as a scientist-turned-athlete who must kick, boop and bump a specimen across the arena to keep it alive. Should it bounce on the ground more than once, it - along with your groundbreaking scientific findings - will perish.
The specimen can only bounce on the floor once.
Running into, or slamming the specimen with E, resets its bounce count.

KEYBOARD
WASD - movement
Enter - slam
CONTROLLER
Left analogue stick - movement
Right trigger - slam
We hope you enjoy keeping it alive.

Notice that sometimes the alien bumps really fast in the same place and you get about 10 points.
Have a nice day :)
The character designs are adorable and their movement feels pretty satisfying. The legs, the body weight shifting, the alien's squashyness!
I found it pretty challenging to get to 10+ bounces. It felt like I either just couldn't get to the landing spot fast enough or my own shadow mixed with the alien's shadow and I got confused. I guess I need to eat more strawberries :)
Cool jam.
The visuals are nice and cartoony , the mechanics are also nice and 'boopy' xD Aliens were adorably questionable xD
Corners can be exploited a little bit. If you manage to trap the "ball" between your character and the corner you can get a lot of points. Maybe an octagonal arena or something like that would help.
I think the game is at its best when the alien is flying around the arena at high speeds while I try to keep up with it. xD Very bold move making a physics-based jam game, but I'd say it paid off!
maximum science achieved!
I love the models. I often early in a game would drop an fairly easy feeling ball. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I think i was having trouble telling whether the ball further y or z of me. Maybe having the ball change color slightly when it goes higher might help. Or maybe i just have horrible depth perception lol.
Good game!
Bouncing the specimen was a bit awkward, though, as I had some trouble judging the depth of objects, in particular the position of the specimen relative to my character(might have something to do with the perspective?). Also, I was able to get the specimen stuck in a corner and just spam the slam button to get a really high score. :D
I didn't realy get why the alien become red and die, so it's a bit frustrating.
There is a hack, if you block the alien in corner you can get a high score in few seconds.
Overall, very good job.
Was a lot of fun trying to keep the specimen alive, although the perspective sometimes tricked me into thinking I could make it reset when I obviously couldn't :'D
The gameplay was kind of hard to grasp and the game overall is a bit too hard. I didn't really notice a difference if you slam compared ti just standing under the speciment? Also what do the tomatos do? :3
The movement of the player felt funny, I would work on that and make achievements like having to make the specimen hit certain areas for points or something, or maybe make him evoid certain areas? :)
Congratz on finishing your game, looks amazing :)
Also not to brag (obviously to brag) but I'm pretty proud of my high score
