Project Loop by Lisichka

[raw]
made by Lisichka for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

this game is a good example of what will happen if you don't prepare your schedule for ludum dare. Project loop -its a game about a dungeon that repeats the same day. Because of this the dungeon begins to distort and loses its original appearance

I like the premise of the repeating and distorting dungeon - however I somehow wasn't able to progress further than 3 or 4 iterations.
There was one room where it had a small enemy in the middle with 3 attacks - and despite shooting a lot at the enemy in the middle, he wouldn't be rmoved.

if you mean a huge chicken cutlet that creates smaller cutlets then you need to shoot at it from different sides. And this still has 25 health.

I like graphics and music, but it's quietly boring to walk into dungeon, i didn't understand what to do, so every time i destroyed this colb and everything repeated. Strange, but beautiful

I think the premise here is solid, but as others have said it's boring to just walk around and find one thing to shoot at. The gun rotation is also really weird and it's possible for your shots to get caught on the player collider. I would set the body and the bullet to different layers and turn off collision between them. I hope you work on this, it has a lot of potential.

Hi dude, find out that you are asking for feedback and here it is. Don't get it wrong, I'm quite positive and this is a nice result, especially if you didn't have enough time or experience (don't know your background, sorry :<), but I will point a few weak spots that might be not so hard to manage and, at the same time, will completely change the way how the game feels:
- **Art**: The attempt is nice and I see that there is some idea behind character designs. I do like it, but the dungeon itself looks like a placeholder. Try to add some decorations, maybe [use random](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/cycloop/small-hint-to-have-a-better-visual-result) to do that.
- **Levels**: Aside from the visual part it might be more interesting from the gameplay perspective - some simple random enemies or some small traps/puzzles in the rooms might give additional motivation to discover new rooms. A reward is welcome as well
- And last but not least: **Game cycle**. That fact that the theme is 'Stuck in the loop' doesn't mean that game shouldn't have a start and an end. The start you did very well and I was even thinking that it might be not a visual ideal but a very good story-based game (like this for example - https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/delivery-boy-forever) but it turns out that there is no end at all. Consider developing the game process somehow during gameplay and find a way to reward players for finish the game.

But again, don't get me wrong, I liked it, but for sure there is a big room for improvement. So I hope we will see big progress for you in your next game ;)

Hey! Explored the games, though couldn't do much in there. Too many empty rooms, get a bit boring while exploring, since I couldn't find anything new. the alignment of room maps should be fixed, the black lines between the rooms doesn't look good. What I really enjoyed - the characters. Really nice pixel art style, same with music, gives some nostalgic feeling of good old arcade games. Looking forward for an update! Good luck!

This was a neat game, although I couldn't tell if I was progressing or not. I think I was as the dungeon kept getting weirder and the "boss" kept changing.

Thought it was a cool interpretation of the theme. Reminded me of the loop of Majora's Mask, albeit much simpler. Would have liked to see more stuff in the dungeons, maybe some other enemies or possibly an update from the person I'm helping saying "great work"!

Music felt right with the graphics. Really well done.

I played around with it a bit. It has a lot of potential, and I'm curious what'll come of it. I'm following you on itch.io as [Dizztal](https://dizztal.itch.io). Good luck .)

Loved the idea.
The art is great.

The music was a little frustrating, and my bullets collided with my own head.

Looks like you tried to aim big for a Game Jam.

I'd like to see where this goes.

Great potential, yet there are some hurdles to still flatten. As others, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the gameplay loop (huehue). Maybe add some more challenges on the board?

Other than that, I've watched your Devlog and am interested to see where you go with this game!

Nice sprites, wish they were animated, collision detection could use some help. good job
