Cat Shelter Simulator by Fat cat
Keep the cats alive! (You were originally also meant to keep your cat-social media account alive, but we did not have time. You can still take pictures of your cats, though!) I apologize in advance for any bugs (and for any cats that poop somewhere they're not supposed to)
We found the game had two critical bugs:
* The player being charged rent multiple times at the end of the month, resulting in the shelter closing down no mater how much money the player had
* The player being able to buy anything in the shop even if they can't actually afford it.
We uploaded a version of the game with these bugs fixed that's playable in the web browser. Sorry for everyone who had their shelters unfairly closed down :slight_frown:

It actually seems fairly well balanced to be honest, though having enough content in a Sim game can be tough in this tight a time frame!
Also this visual Sims touch is really nice also reminded me of those cute 3DS games :)
This had the funny effect of wanting to make the cats go away as this was the game objective and at the same time being sad about it, haha

I had some good time with this, I'd just wish to have the possibility to rotate the camera around and have more freedom of movement overall, especially since taking photos was one of the game mechanics.

Almost got screwed by the first rent, because I upgraded the house with 2 days left and it increased my rent, but all my cats came together for a massive group-photo, to try to save the shelter, and it worked! :cat2:

I liked the graphics a lot, it was nice and coherent, the cats felt very "catlike". The audio was also great!

I think it stretched on a bit too long, though - at about 10 days left I felt like I'd mostly seen it all and only continued to the end of the month because it seemed like the best stopping point. The music got pretty old by the end too.
There were a few minor glitches, like cats clipping through the edge of a wall, and cat names not displaying correctly if you click between cats without deselecting them first.
Overall a very comfy game - naming the cats and taking pictures of them were nice touches.
