https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smozGh1zpO8 An asynchronous VR local multiplayer party game in which 1 player in the headset plays as the hero trying to burn down the accursed mansion while the players on PC act as “The Darkness” trying to snuff out their light. The hero plays mansion made up of a grid of rooms setting fires that eventually spread to other rooms while avoiding The Darkness. They win when 90% of the rooms are ignited. The Darkness controls dark swarms of energy and alternates between attacking the hero to dim their torch and putting out fires in already ignited rooms. I really like the idea of this, but can't actually try it as I only have an Oculus Quest. Is there any chance you could provide an apk I could install on the Quest?

@nehvis Thank you for checking our game out. We are currently trying to develop a Quest version but will have to make quite a few changes before that is possible, along with a few other fixes :).

Thank you for your feedback and interest! Good luck!

@blue-pin-studio :( Ya, the game is meant for multiplayer, sorry about that. I promise it is worth it if you get a few other friends on a PC to run a round chasing you. It is hilarious and scary at the same time haha.

Hopefully, can eventually make a long term goal of adding AI that can act as the Darkness.

Thank you for checking out our game and leaving feedback. Good Luck!

@nehvis @blue-pin-studio @mehrdadsh If you'd like we'd love some help playtesting. We've got the basics of the game together which was our main goal, but if we move forward with development there is be a lot of polish and bugfixing to do. Feel free to hit us up on our Discord: https://discord.gg/WyTnXKW

Playing on Rift.

Ran into a lot of bugs with going out of bounds or breaking the game in other ways. Lots of errors showing up in the console.

Also took me a while to figure out what the room number was and how to connect.

The UI does not scale at all on a 4k monitor so everything was really tiny.

Had a bit of trouble understanding how to play at first, e.g. how to put out fires.

Still had fun in the end. I think this could be a really solid idea for a party game, it mainly just needs a ton of polish and more variety in the interactions between the players.

Pretty ambitious to make a VR game for Ludum Dare, hope you're able to get enough ratings!

Thank you for the feedback yawl! Yeah for better or worse it was pretty ambitious to make not just a VR game but a multiplayer online asynchronous VR game with the time we had, but that's the way we like it! We'll be uploading a more stable and balanced version soon and are thinking about exploring the idea further @epsulon @alchemic

Played the game with @alchemic before updated instructions were put on here. The visuals once in VR were great and fit well with the isometric view from the other player's point of view. We figured out that hitting spacebar did something, but we never entirely figured out what it did and were surprised every time the darkness won as all the rooms were up in flames. The one great part about having the game in VR were the occasional ghost jumpscares, but with the speed everything moved, that was a rare occurrence and did not really allow for reactions. Overall I wish there was a larger focus on what the person in VR could see or do, and maybe just in general making it more user friendly, but otherwise great game.

I couldn't get it to work.
After starting both the vr and pc version print out a lobby connection error message. I couldn't get it to connect.

Voted for the parts that I could see, graphics, audio, innovation
