GrooveBouncer by Merotar

[raw]
made by Merotar for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

This is a sandbox experience!

Choose items from the menu and draw them to the board:

  • ball spawner: spawn the ball
  • bin: destroy the ball
  • bouncer: just bounce
  • ball spawn trigger: trigger a new ball spawn
  • various instruments: compose a song

Maybe try to get the ball stuck in a loop! Just fur fun.

Hint: You can put your own wav samples in the subfolder "GrooveBouncer_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio" and have some extra fun.

Be careful kids, you might fry your computer.
Otherwise, I would love it to have way to export music from that to wav and use it in the next ludumdare project

Oh wow. More a toy than a game but this is really awesome. Played around with it far too long. Sadly I can't really find the theme in this one. But other than that I really enjoyed it. Good job!

@szkocka This screenshot is amazing!

@warrrkus You kind of have to build a "level" which suits the theme. You can totally build a melody with a ball stuck in a loop. But yeah, it might not be obvious.

This was quite fun, if you threw in an objective it could've become a game. but honestly as a thing to play around with it's very much entertaining. I really enjoyed it

Very cool game idea. Had a blast playing around with the different sounds and making a nice combination

As much as I enjoyed the visuals and how responsive the game is, I sadly expreienced that the sound bits will die quite fast. I don't know if the amount of sounds played at the same time caps out or what, but with a game that has music as it's main theme, this shouldn't an issue.

Cool little toy, reminds me of the "Powder Game" game I used to play during my childhood. Was fun and cool :)

Wow, this is really cool. I had heaps of fun messing around with it! The visuals are great as well - love the shadows that cast when you draw something.

Only note I have is it's not very obvious how to create the bouncers etc - I tried clicking and dragging and dropping from the menu before I realised you had to 'draw' them. Perhaps it would benefit from a quick tutorial at the start - but then again it didn't take that long to figure it out.

Not too sure it fits with the theme, other than trying to get the ball stuck in a loop as you say. Maybe there could have been puzzle levels where that was the goal? Not that it really matters - it is a really great game (or rather tool/program?)
