I'm so into this art style! The scenery and character design are so very satisfying and also very unique. It makes me want to play more levels to learn more about the world. Once I got through the tutorial, the game felt very fair and the tricks were satisfying. I wasn't a big fan of the tutorial stopping me to show messages. I wonder if there could be a way to avoid that. I'd spend a lot of time playing this game with more levels and maybe some variation to the tricks you can do by combining the trick button with arrow keys. Lots of great ways you could expand on this, but it feels very good in its current state.

The game is very well made. The art style and character designs are very appealing. In general the gameplay seemed polished and only had some minor issues. The tutorial was a good addition to the game, although it seemed odd that dying in the tutorial resulted in having to restart the game. The only other issue that stood out to me was the visuals blurring a bit when there are many objects on the screen at the same time. While the game was short, the scoring system allows for replayability. It took me a couple of tries to get through the game, but when I finally won, I was happy to see that even the end of the level looked nice.

Really fun game!
For some reason whenever I saw the old lady and a combination of certain houses in the background I felt I was in Bikini Bottom hahahah
Thought about porting this to android/appstore? It's quite addicting

Fun little game. I think some more juice on the character as you go up and down would add a lot to it. Also the fork I thought was something you could grind on especially since there was a trail of points leading into it :D

An adorable game! The sound track was fun, and the overall gameplay was extremely smooth! I love the art style. c: I did find that i died quite a bit in the tutorial, and having an option to click through and restart instead of just needing to wait through the loss screen to get sent back would have been nice! I also appreciate that there was a tutorial at all though, given it was done for a game jam, so kudos on that! The sounds for doing repeated tricks in the air was extremely satisfying - doing the jumps was definitely my favourite part of the game.

I also agree that the stopping in tutorial for message display was a little jarring - perhaps just longer streaks of empty road before the obstacle to give the player time to read while still moving? I also had an issue where when I died I could continue to control the character for a bit after, resulting in repeated death animations and audio.

Overall, i love the vibe and the main character is a ton of fun to look at! ~✧✧

Aww yeah. Those jumps are really fun! I can see this working really great as sort of level-based score-attack game.

The audio balance is a bit off, which is unfortunate. The music track seems really great, but it's quite faint in comparison to some of the sound effects, which I think loses out on some potential. Seems like something that could easily be tuned, though :)

@billehbawb thanks! im glad we met your expectations!

@rooftopdog oh god! as funny as it is, you're not the first to say that! hahah

@parahunter I'm not sure I got what you meant about the fork (I suppose you're talking about the red trident xD)? You mean you thought you'd die from hitting it?

@briibot @nathan-wiles thanks for the suggestion on the tutorial presentation, we'll keep an eye on that!

That concept is so for me! Hell yeah and rock on :metal: !

Graphics are awesome and the color scheme is great as well. I wish background music was more "rocky". Gameplay was fun and I liked observing the environment as I rolled by. It is a really polished experience and a great jam job! Thank you for posting the blog post today, or I would never find it!

It took a few tries but I finished it with non-stellar marks
