Endless by Retro Hammer
TW: contains content that might be triggering for some people
I started a bit late so I didn't have much time, but this is what I came up with: Endless. A game about a person that struggles with mental health and all the days just blend into eachother, or I guess you could say they loop.
My goal wasn't to make a super fun game, what I wanted was to make a game that hopefully could shine a little light on mental health awareness. So with that in mind, I hope you like this short little game
All textures, sfx, and scripts (except for One script which was made by Brackeys: https://github.com/Brackeys/2D-Character-Controller) is made by me.

I really like what you're trying to accomplish here, though if I could make a suggestion:
It seems like you're trying to have multiple messages here, and in my opinion they seem a bit at odds with each other. You want to shine a light on mental health issues and help people who don't have them understand them. At the same time, you want to give people who struggle with mental health issues hope for a better future (from what I could gather from your ending text).
Given this, I'm not sure I agree with how you chose to end your game with a suicide. It was very effective as a way to convey the feeling of hopelessness to someone who might not understand what the character is experiencing. However, I think ending the game by forcing the player to kill themselves kind of undermines what happens afterwards when you're telling the player to "not give up hope." I think maybe if you left the ending a bit more ambiguous, it would have strengthened both of your messages.
Sorry if this all sounds super critical. I tend to write a lot more and be much more critical of games I really like. At the end of the day, your game brought out all of these thoughts and opinions from me, which means it made much more of an impact on me then most LD games.
On the positive side of things, I think you really nailed the aesthetic and atmosphere. I love the design of the character model, as well as all of the visual effects going on here.
I really appreciate what you're trying to do here. Keep up the good work. :thumbsup:
But the main message is that it will get better and it's worth fighting, and also try to show other people what it can be like sort of.
But I really appreciate the feedback no matter if it's criticism or not!
And I'm glad you like the aesthetics!
Nice job.
@robin49 Thank you so much!
Besides that, I would use a pixelated font to match the pixel art of the game.
Overall this was a few minute silent thinking. The gameplay was nothing, BUT there is a good message and great graphics. Thanks for this few minute.
As you said in previous replies, I hope you'll find ways to enhance the game and bring other endings. Interested to play it again once you have a new version !
Great Game Tho. The Audio, Graphics All Were Really Fitting.
