Tchu Tchu Stuck in a Loop by Bruyère Alice

[raw]
made by Bruyère Alice for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

You play Wobble, a creature riding in a minecart. He's trying to find the exit of the mineshaft. But he's somehow gotten stuck in it! Looping the same way again and again..

Mechanics are explained in game, but here is a little explanation anyway :

  • Only Mouse is needed. No Keyboard.

  • The game has a Runner Game mechanics, it means your character is moving by his own, and you have to give him a little amount of order such as Jumping, Shooting, Sliding, and Dashing.

You don't need to use it when it needs to be used. Actually, by clicking on an Action Button, it select it. And the next time you will encounter an obstacle, it will trigger the selected action.

BUT each of your actions are limited. You can only use them few times. You have to upgrade them to use them even more, and go further.

  • You're looping the same Level endlessly, the aim is to loop the level to get great reward. The more you loop it in a row, the better are the rewards.

  • There is also a Clicker mechanics. In aim to help you to upgrade your Actions Buttons.

  • Looping the level also gives you a chance to upgrade your clicker in the Shop with Token.

Since it's a Loop. You can learn the pattern pretty fast and in the end selecting the actions to do, then taking care of your clicker. But you'll need the Clicker part to upgrade your Runner part. Then you'll need to Loop the runner few times before being able to upgrade the Clicker part.

Really enjoyed the color scheme and the aesthetic. Very chaotic, but fun to play and try to beat.

This game was amazing!Hands down the best game I've played so far. The only issue would be the repeating music because repeating the same sound over and over does get boring, perhaps add another track to the game. Overall this was a well polished, fun and innovative game!

Fun Cool Promising Premise! I found it difficult to navigate between the buttons in a timely fashion and wished they were mapped to keys, so i didn't get far past the first couple of obstacles. I also felt the wall of text at the beginning was too mush to read, and the game made intuitive sense, so it seemed unnecessary. I enjoyed the aspect of having to sort of buy the necessary tools to complete the loop, and had a lot of fun. Spent more time with this than I have with most.

Well that was hard, but fun! I would have like the difficulty to escalate a bit smoother, it would be okay for this game to get hard very fast, but here you're only dying a few times at the beginning until you fully understand how to play. Maybe make the level design easier, the minecart slower, and display the actions one after the other so that the player is guided simply on how to play, and then you accelerate the all thing ?
Despite that, as I said it was fun, the music was nice, the artstyle too :) great entry!

Perhaps the best game I've played so far! I have never seen such a unique idea with this level of execution. But calm down a bit on the speed of the cart, my dude, we're not all MLG here lol. It's specially frustrating because it is controlled with a mouse click. (I think the purpose is that so you could port it to mobile easily) but having to look on whats happening and then look at the controls is very hard when the speed of the cart is that fast. That said still the best I've played, well done

Kind of hard to get into it but cool game, I love the graphics and the shop/upgrade mechanic. It's a bit hard to get into this one and the instructions are way to overwhelming to understand at first and that's the only flaw in my end.

I skipped through the first blocks of text to get into the game. Enjoyed it when I played it but was a bit confused how you get the silver coins for the shop upgrade. Couldn't figure out a way while in game to re-open a help screen or window to re-read stuff without losing my progress.
